I want to say congrats to Sandy Plains Wildcats for taking 2nd in the USSA Global State Championship. They took down HP Chili Dogs in the semi's and Had to play the mighty Sandtown for the championship. Our boys played their hearts out but with & HR's we just couldn't hold on. Congrats to Sandtown as well for their Championship win!

I want to congratulate all the teams that had an opportunity to participate in the Global State Championship. The Sandtown Red Sox were phenominal, they seem to be back in championship form. The Red Sox were to strong of a team this weekend to be stopped, they had stellar defense, overwhelming pitching and hit almost 20 Homeruns this weekend. I look forward to seeing this team continue to grow.

I agree with Starscream. # 34 hit two 300 ft shots off two of our best pitchers. They are the two longest balls I've ever seen by an 11 YO. And he was only one of five who went deep on us. I know Tony is glad to have him back.

Sandtown also made some spectacular plays in the field and of course, they have 3-4 guys that can pitch with anyone. This weekend, they looked like they were ready to compete with anyone in the Southeast.

Thanks for the nice words mysmitty. I'd like to think that the #1 takeaway when somebody plays our team, is we keep in perspective that we are playing 11 YO baseball and our #1 goal is that the kids have fun. We want them to respect the game, their teammates, coaches, parents, and opponents. We don't always get this right and we make emotionally driven mistakes like everyone else (just ask my son after a poor AB at a critical time in a game), but this goal is why we coach.
