Does anyone know the rules on subs? My son would like to sub this summer since he will be staying in the area with grandparents until mid July. His team plays the week of June 9th. He would already have his CDP uniform and would not have to stay in the dorms. He would be a cheap/free option and can pitch! Anyone know if this is even an option?

From what I saw it would not be an option.

Plus, be careful having your 12u kid pitching as much as Cooperstown allows them to pitch. Plus, it's a fun but draining week. It WILL rain, games will be rescheduled often. We had one game start at 1am!

Seems like the coaches had to have a roster around May 1? (Coaches have to present a roster at sign in and turn in all the other relevant paperwork so maybe I’m not remembering the “May 1” deadline incorrectly. Just give them a call - the number is on the Cooperstown Dreamspark website and they’re nice folks who can fill you in.

My son played for 5 different teams (5 different weeks) last year. He had the cost associated with his primary team, but the other 4 weeks (teams) all brought him in with no 'fee' (I'm sure the team covered it). As long as the host team has your info on their roster in time, there shouldn't be an issue, and the team has to pay for the player ($995) regardless, if he doesn't stay in dorm or doesn't need uniform.

They seemed pretty militant that the kids had to stay in the dorm. Have things changed?

we’ve been a couple times and were able to check the kid out for the night whenever we wanted.
