Charlotte had a kid named Seth Cantrell(?) that apparently is a roamer. He was asked to play with the San Diego Show but had already committed to Charlotte. I was told by their assistant coach that this kid played with them last year when the won the Elite 32 as a 9u team. He said he hit one out at Disney on a 300 ft field at 9u. I didn't think much of it until I saw him probably hit one 300 in the HR hitting contest. In the semi's against Miami he hit a grand slam that eventually won the game. I also heard he was clocked on a gun at 72. Didn't actually see that but it was the rumor of the night.
Charlotte is a talented team. Miami Brawlers walked through the tournament until Wednesday afternoon and then they ran into trouble. Lots of great teams of California and Florida. Great tournament with lots of talent.
It is possible for a 10U kid to hit the ball 300ft....I have seen it twice this year. And I think the fastest I saw Cantrell clocked at earlier this year was 67-68 but that is still extremely impressive for a ten year old.
You'd have to see the size of these 10u kids to understand it. Something in the water I guess. There's some rather large 10u kids in this country. The first baseman for the Legends is taller than 3 of his 5 coaches. I can't say I saw the Charlotte kid hit it 300 ft but I did see him three times probably hit it 275+. He hit it out of the Little Majors Stadium and across the sidewalk behind the stadium in left field three times. And he didn't even win. Some kid from the Miami Brawlers won although I don't think he hit them as far.
Is it even physically possible for a 9yr or 10yr old to hit a ball 300ft??? These stories get more unbelievable every season.
The big kid from SP and the big hitter from Stealth are the best power hitters I've seen or heard about. I don't know if either of these kids can hit it 300 ft but 250-260 is within their reach. I heard the SP kid hit a HR on field 8 @ EC that hit the top of the stands of the big field. Now, just to clear the fence is a good 225 but that one must have been 275 or more.

The ECB Outlaws had 2 players hit it to the middle of the warning track at ECB (I think field 6??) with the big green monster wall. In left center. One of the other ECB coaches said he personally measured it with tape, and said center is 280 ft...so that should be 270+...both 10s...
Tae, I believe your #15 hit the longest ball Ive seen this year on us at TC State, it went straight away center and I think landed on top of the roof of the equipment shed. Best hitter we have faced this season!

Thanks for the compliment Steve, #15 hit that ball a long way considering it was a 225ft fence. He's hit about 8 this season and it's a good rivalry between him and Jake for the HR leader but Jake's got him by a couple now.
