4 of the top 6 teams in North Carolina have chosen to go to the 11U AAU Nationals in Disney at the end of June. In some of our opinions, Triple Crown in Myrtle Beach just doesn't cut it. Between the crowds at the beach and restaurants, fields that don't come close to measuring up to Disney, and only a 4 game guarantee, for the money, it was easy to make the decision.

We hope anyone who didn't qualify for the Elite 32, and wants some quality end of the season Baseball, will join us.

Good Luck to all ............

That makes a lot of sense. The MBA Pride 11U team will be participating in the AAU National tournament as well. This looks to be a competitive tournament based on the teams that are listed.

As of 5/25 the AAU site only lists 3 teams from NC (Dirtbags, GCAA Wildcats Blue and WC Mustangs) What other team(s) are you talking about?

The more good teams, the better! Tourneys at Disney are nice, but there are a few negatives. You can count on rain every afternoon from about 3:30 until 6:00. After you pay for parking and the hefty entry fees, you'll walk FOREVER to get to your fields. Equipment carts are available at the front to load your team's stuff on, but if you have anything remotely heavy to carry you'll be hating it by the time you get back to fields 20, 21 and 22. The WonderWheeler or some type of cart is a must-have.

Plan on dropping lots of cash. $7 sandwiches, $5 hot dogs, $3 seeds/peanuts... you get the picture. Though a cold beer may be worth more than $5.50 when you're hot!

On a positive note... it IS Disney! The boys love it! The fields are immaculate, you have announcers at every game who make it fun, Disney MVP balls given at every game, everything is quality and professional. The umpires are nice and love to trade pins with the boys. It's really hard to not have a smile on your face when you're there. Despite all the con's, I'm looking forward to 2 tourneys at Disney this year!

The Raleigh Phoenix decided last night that we are also going to play in Disney. We had numerous injuries early in the year, but now every one is healthy.

Sorry guys. The Phoenix just got a bid to the Elite 32 World Series and will not be going to the AAU's after all.

Good Luck to all ..............
