Does anyone have information on which parks have fields that are inappropriate for the 8 year old level? We've played in a couple of tournaments lately where we showed up to the tourney, and the fences were 125 feet. It just turns into a homerun contest. Either you hit a single or a homerun. Tons of force outs at 2nd base because the outfielder only has to throw the ball about 30 or 40 feet to get it to second. There are no doubles and triples, and outfield play almost doesn't matter because if you miss the ball, it's just a single anyway. We'd like to avoid those kinds of situations if at all possible. We've played on fields at 250 feet, and even though that's way too big, it's still better baseball than trying to play on a 125 foot field.

Any of the USSSA tournaments south of Atlanta are tiny. It's hard to find tournaments with enough teams north of Atlanta on bigger fields though.
