The 12U Sandy Plains Prowlers will participate in the SPBA Academy hosted tryout on Saturday, July 22 from 9:00-12:00 at Harrison Park Field-3. For those players with a conflict, the Prowlers will host separate tryouts on Thursday, July 20 from 7:00-9:00 at Harrison Park Field-3 and on Sunday, July 23 from 2:00-4:00 at Harrison Park Field-3. Harrison Park is located adjacent to Lassiter High School at 2653 Shallowford Road in Marietta. Sandy Plains Baseball requires each prospective player to register on line and pay a $20 tryout fee. Please visit the Sandy Plains Baseball website at SandyPlainsBaseball.Com to register and pay. The Prowler hosted tryouts do not have an additional tryout fee.
The Prowlers are a third-year travel team and will attend the 2018 Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament in Cooperstown, New York. The Prowlers will play at the high AAA/Major level. The Prowlers completed the 2017 season this past weekend and finished runner up in the Platinum (highest) division of the 30-team USSSA Open Global World Series in Gulf Shores. The Prowlers won 7 games and lost 2 in the World Series and finished the season with a record of 50 wins and 15 losses. The prior two seasons the Prowlers won a combined 101 games, including seven championships and seven runner-up finishes.
