Here are the 12u teams. Anyone care to rank? Anybody have any G2 on these 12u teams?

1. 643 DP Cougars
2. Bandits Baseball (11U)
3. ECB Astros
4. ECB Braves
5. ECB Titans
6. Hobgood Extreme
7. Webb Bridge A's
8.

Also, shameless plug for 11u. We still have 2 spots left.
1. 643 Jaguars
2. Duluth Wildcats
3. ECB Stars
4. GA Jackets - Gold
5. GA Jackets - White
6. Holly Springs Express
7. Homeplate Chilidogs - Lawson
8. Ocee Stars
9. Oregon Park Sharks
10. Oregon Park Storm
11. Sandy Plains Prowlers*
12. Sandy Plains Wildcats*

* Sandy Plains teams will not play if 2 other teams sign-up to make room. Contact me at spwildcats@gmail.com for info.

No one can beat the Bandits at 11U. It will be fun to see how the 12's do against them.

Astros should be the best team in this one and should win it but you never know. ECB Braves are a major team and should be up to the challenge as well. Webb Bridge was a big solid team last year so depending who they picked up they should be good too. Hobgood is a AAA team but can play with most major teams. 6-4-3 is relatively new and I have heard they have lost to the 11U 6-4-3 teams so they might be the weakest team in this one. ECB Titans are a AAA team also.
I think the Bandits can beat 6-4-3, Titans and Extreme, but might struggle against the ECB Astros and Braves, toss up with Webb Bridge A's.
I hope they win it all and make the 11U division look even better.

It seems the only sure bet at this point is that the rain will win every event this month. TD's are going to need to start renting out the GA Dome if they want any tournaments to make.

With that said, I'd take the Bandits over the any of the ECB teams in the finals of this one.

I would have to agree with Rocky on this one that go with the Astros. I'm just basing this off the usual tradition of making the best teams at East Cobb the Astros and knowing only one of the players that came from Collins Hill. I suspect if all 14...I repeat 14 members showing on the roster are the same caliber anyone will have a tough time against them at 12U.

I don't understand how some of these teams put 12,13,14 players on a team and keep everyone happy? I see it on ECB and 6-4-3's rosters. I figure at the older ages maybe 14U and up you have pitchers only, but I would think below that most kids still want to play and not just pitch.

I think some of these boys play for multiple teams, at least up until April 1st, or until they are frozen. Afterwards, they might play with other teams that don't play USSSA to avoid all the restrictions.

Lastly, be sure when you're looking at a USSSA teams on-line roster, that you click on "show current roster" tab atop the page to eliminate boys who have left the team. Some folks don't know about that tab, so teams appear to have many more players than they really do. Not for you Whitlow, just for other newbie forum readers, or those new to travel ball.

Whitlow.. any 12u or younger team with 13 or 14 active players on its roster will have discord throughout the season. Especially one that plays in an ultra-competitive environment. With only 6 innings/short time limits, there is just no way to keep everyone happy.

I hope we get the chance to face the bandits I think our newly formed teams on the southside may have something for them. I also hope they do well against the 12s. They are one of the best teams around 11s or 12s.

Thanks to all for the kind words for the Bandits and thanks to mysmitty for bringing whatever he has to the Bandits. I hope it is a gift like the teams exchange prior to their games in the Dizzy Dean World Series but I hope that it's not a hickory to use when the Bandits get took behind the barn.

Papa is looking at this more realistically than some of you seem to be. The Bandits will bring all that they have but I have up to now never seen a major any age team play up against a major team one year older teams and win. As I mentioned I watched many of these same Astros and Jaguars that we will be playing and felt like they were national contenders at 11U and I believe that they held their own but I do not think they won. I wish someone from the Astros (Old Longhorns) or Jaguars would let us know how their experience was playing up last year.

I will tell you this and that is that all of the Coaches, Parents, and Papa's are all on the same page for the reasons we are playing up and that is only to make us better prepared for the major 11U tournaments we will enter later in the year.

Papa I do not mean to intrude on your discussion, but just for clarification, (I've seen this in more than one post), the 12U astros are not made up mostly of 11U EC Longhorns. Based on their website http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=ecb12uastros there are only 3 longhorns on this team, 4 EC Stars, 1 12uEC Braves dropdown, (that's 8 from EC) and a mix of Kennesaw Xtreme, 2 Gwinette players and 2 from the Albany Styxx. A stout team to put it lightly, but a big step up from last year's longhorns (which itself was a mighty good team).

To answer your question, my experience with playing up is the top major teams can compete against the AAA and lower calibur Major teams a year ahead and it is a great experience playing those teams as you only get better. However, expectations should be tempered when playing the elite teams (Jags, Astros or Roadrunners in 12U)and you measure success by whether your kids were intimidated, not by whether they won or lost.

bruins1: Thanks for the clarification on the Astros. All of us are looking forward to measuring ourselves against such a great team and I think that my thinking and yours are one and the same. The reason we moved up is to measure ourselves and to find out where we need to get better. Our expectations are modest and we can come out with a few wins and play without fear then we will have accomplished our mission. I think the key that you mentioned is expectations and again our expecatations are modest.

Either way, win or loose, the Bandits will get better from the challenge. I would think just playing late Sunday afternoon would be a victory against major 12u teams.

Jackets Gold - mostly Wills Park YJ team from last year
Jackets White - about 1/2 N GA Storm and 1/2 new players from what I can see

Don't overlook ECB Stars here. And you left out Holly Springs which I'm guessing is an oversight and not a prediction.

How does the 12u bracket rank? Rocky???
