Anybody gonna give it another shot? It looks to be under new management although that won't help the weather or the fields. In days gone by, this was an awesome tournament and would like to see it that way again. I asked the USSSA director in TN why he couldn't get the new ballpark in Chat but said that Softball has it locked up most of the time - sad because this is supposed to be a terrific new facility.

Frydaddy: Are you speaking of Heritage Park or the new park in Ootelwah called the Summit I think. I have heard that the Summit is really nice but I have not had the opportunity to get to the fields yet. Hopefully we will get to play there soon. I hope the Border Wars does make a comeback as for years it had the best teams in the Region coming to play. We all know that it is the teams entered that make the tournament and not the fields. |

I was talking about The Summit (just got some pics sent to me-looks very nice). Southern Baseball has a tourney there March 5-7th (same time as Border Wars) and then there is another tourney being done 2 weeks later during Atlanta Super NIT by the Cyclones(?). They are saying that the Summit will only be used for 4 weekends of the year for baseball. Heritage Point is another park we have yet to play but look forward to doing so sometime this year since I've heard very good things about it too.
We are hopeful that they can get Border Wars in this year - too bad it's not at the Summit.

We are going to give it a try, but we are a Chattanooga team anyway. The tournament director says he will give back $75 for every game under 4, if it gets washed out. Cant beat that!! |

Now we are a bit torn between going to play at The Summit ballpark or play at East Brainerd. It will depend on who enters I'm sure - looking for better competition.

Does anyone know how the Border Wars is coming along. I checked the site and it didn't appear to be updated but it looks like some pretty good teams are coming. |

I was in Downtown Chattanooga last week and noticed some brand new fields near the Aquarium, what's the name of that park? Looked very nice. All black fencing and a lot of brick.

Is moser referring to the new Summit Fields. Papa has not seen them yet but have heard that they are top notch. We need to play more up this way. |

I believe moser is referring to the Warner Park softball fields. Very nice complex, and papa I believe Summit fields is located in Owlville(Ooltewah) |

We changed our minds about Border Wars and now going to Ooltewah to play at the new Summit Complex in the Southern Baseball tourney the same weekend. Even with all this rain I have to think these new fields will have better drainage than East Brainerd. |

Yes but unfortunately we have another tourney planned that weekend. We may change our minds on this one too but not likely. That one will be a terrific warmup going into Atlanta.
