I realize this is a dumb question, but just wondering what has caused 4 of the 5 ECB teams to change names for the 2010 season. Does ECB tell you what your names are at age 11u? I know that there are a lot of Stars, Titans, Braves at different age levels so is there some sort of tier system in place? Why does this not apply to the ECB Luck?
I know at 13u the top team is Astros, but is the 2nd team always the ___________? What is the top 14u team? And so on?

The name changing is done to confuse the rest of the baseball world. Or maybe there just confused themselves? |

I am not sure, but I believe there are several ECB teams at different age groups where the same coach coaches the team year after year. I know at 16u, Guerry Baldwin always coaches the Astros. At 17u, his brother always coaches the Braves. I think at 13u, Tony Cowart coaches the Astros. Tony may move up, I am not sure. Other than that, there is no rhyme or reason. Coaches get approved to coach at ECB and they can call the team whatever they want. So if there is a Cobras team at 12u, and that coach leaves, another coach comes in and calls his team whatever he wants to. At least that is my understanding. |

I know the Titans changed names to become part of the Titans program. Astros, I can only guess it's a buddy thing since noone is allowed to use it till the older ages. Stars, I believe just combined 2 teams and wanted to reflect that a change was made. Scorpions/Braves/Colts,over throw of the existing management means you kind of have to change names. Luck, don't think they get as involved as the others do.

The Titan's program is founded by Chance Beam @ ECB. Great coach, great resume. Two National Championship's @ 16's last year, also owns the ECB Academy. The Team formly known as the Scorp's last year will be at EC and be the Colts last I head. Kevin Baldwin (all-time leader in OBP at EC) is Guerry's son not brother, coachs 17-U Braves. There is no pecking order. Good friend of mine (son now plays for the bigs Chi-Sox) used to change names every year based on collage colors they liked and that did well like Noles, then Cains. All about having fun and reflecting, at times the changes or make-up of team. |

Thanks longhorn. BTW - Are you going to change your NWBA name? :)
So all of the Titans teams have some type of association with one another? What exactly does this mean? What about Astros, Longhorns (I know there are several of these)? Braves, etc? Do they also have a program/association of some type?
I know at 13 the players are supposed to be picked in a pecking order after tryouts. Does a player have to go to the top team if picked or could he go to the Titans (or Longhorns or anyone else) if he wanted to?
Sorry for the many questions.

Where is the ECB Baseball Academy located and is it limited to East Cobb Players or is it open to the public. Are there private lessons and are there batting cages that teams can utilize. |

Papa it's located right at ECB - it's in the big shed to the left of the main entrance. The Academy is definitely open to the public. Should be a link to it off the main website as well. |
