I tried to get you to see up close and personal. We are playing this weekend if you are interested.

We are 14-2 this fall and have won a couple of tournaments in SC and Alabama

How can you leave off a team who won 5 tourneys this Fall, went 9-3 vs. 11U Major teams, and finished 4th in a Super NIT? These guys have 4 new players that are moving them up the food chain. I'm not telling you who they are, roll up your sleeves and get dirty for a change.

T1..stay quiet on this one dawg.

Moser,

I made an earlier post talking about how I thought this team was one of the top five teams in the state. I agree that can beat the big dogs at any given time.

Don't know the logic behind the multiple tiers? There are really on 2 levels here...Premier (Bandits) and everyone else (I haven't seen Sandtown this year, but did last year). So far this Fall we have played the Bandits (2x), Team GA (2x), Jags (2x), ECB Stars (2x), Holly Springs, GA Jackets....No one hits the ball, plays defense, and pitches like the Bandits...No one!

Everyone else is within reach of each other based on poolplay and bracket draws.

What was the major change other than the name from the Bulldogs to the Titans to have them being picked so high?

Oh, almost forgot...one of us has to go back to our 9U predictions now that 10U is done, and post some of the better predictions (okay to cite kudos and bragg on oneself) and bring back some of the hair brain ones (w/o naming names, would show poor form, and we can always go back and find it if we are that determined to throw a fellow poster under the bus).

Don't have time to do the legwork, but here are some interesting threads from last year . . .

Teams that were truly under the radar last year that only a few saw coming: Holly Springs, Grip (bmoser), NYO, Collins Hill, OP Sharks, Bulldogs (although they added 3 players during the season that made a big difference)

Teams that were over-rated: Kennesaw, Longhorns, Tigers

Teams that did what was predicted: Bandits, 643, Sandtown

Not sure how you rank the teams at the end of the season, but here's how I would rank them:
1. Bandits, 2. Sandtown, 3. 643, 4. Grip, 5. Stixx, 6. Holly Springs, 7. Toros, 8. ECB Scorpions 9. ECB Bulldogs, 10. Chili-Black

We're doing okay at spotting emerging teams. Some of our finds:

Grip
Dream Team (when you 1st saw them)
Georgia Force
Holly Springs
Cartersville Rookies
Shiloh (10U)
Stealth (10U)

And now, we see 2 more coming. We're not talking Bandit beaters, but teams who can beat any of the rest on any given day. You have to really get around the State, and look in every nook and cranny to find them. Other times, they are right under your nose. I try not to name these teams too early on, because then everybody loads up on them by using stronger pitching than they would have otherwise. Plus, I don't like to put a Bulls eye on their backs.

Rumor confirmed on Scorpions break up. It seems that several of the players got together and left for another team. What a shame! Nothing surprises me in this soap opera world of youth travel baseball, nothing at all anymore.

I was certainly looking forward to more close, hard fought contests with them. Coach Steve is one of the most respectable and generous coaches I've come to know in this game. He deserves so much better!

I think they are pretty much together except for managers son and one other,I think they are dissapointed that no one knew that the team was up for team of the year at ecb and it was kept secret.

What split the Scorpions is the same stuff that unfortunately split the very competitive 9U Rebels two years ago - there is a pattern here folks!

Last year the Bulldogs had 4 or 5 AA players that have all been replaced by quality players. The reason for all the success last year was good coaching and management of the skills some kids had. All the credit should go to the head coach.

This can't be it. Why would the manager want to keep secret such a prestigious award? It seems that this award should be quite an honor to be shared by all.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Some were right on, other nowhere close. I think this time of year you have to look at what coaches did what with the talent they had to work with last year and what kind of talent they have aquired during the fall. At this age group we can see that quality players are gravitating to the quality programs and those team are starting to pull away.

Just for the record though the Bulldogs beat the Scorpions at state, the Toros at nationals and Holly Spring every time they had a chance. But could never put a whole game together to beat those Chilidogs and I don't think Stixx played last spring or if they did we didn't see them. The Bulldogs also beat the North Texas Bulldogs(NYBC Champions) at nationals.

Who do you guys think will be the team to beat the Bandits at some piont this year or will nobody do it?

I would just like to thank Coach Steve for all his efforts in trying to make youth baseball a better place. I wish the best of luck not only to him but to all in this organization. I am getting older and don't have much reason to worry about what people perceive of what I say so I will say this and not worry too much about how it is taken.

We as parents should be teaching loyalty, perserverance, character, and teaching the little guys to bring a good attitude to any game they play. It is not about winning every time out but it is about doing the best they can every time out. This was a great team with great players, great coaches and great parents. To achieve the greatness that you are looking for you must develop trust in each other on and off the field and you must have a deep respect for your teammates and team friends. We worry that the team does not appear to have jelled and does not appear to have the right chemistry. I tell you now that until you love, trust and believe in one another that you will never reach the top of the mountain. The mountain should be climbed together and by helping the weaker climbers over the rough spots on the mountain. Its called teamwork.

Good luck to these kids, parents, and Coaches wherever you end up.

Titan1 - looks like your Macon Titans just made my Top 25. I know how important that is to you ;)

Newark - not sure you have all the facts on this one. You may want to pay attention to how this board reacts to this news and how many come the coach's defense. The silence may be deafening.
