Curious as to the difference at 14U if the game becomes more "verbal" or vocal with the players? Example ....have catchers started a little report with batters, etc. Do you witness or hear it more middle-in, etc? Crazy question I know but some of these kids aren't kids anymore and I am wondering if this dynamic really starts to change. Does the game become more "colorful" ...from those who have been there and those who have witnessed?

Hey Yard, i think the game becomes more verbal as far as the overall game. BUNT, FLIP, TWO, INSIDE, OUTSIDE. but as far as the punk chatter i think that starts more at 16

14 is around the age where batters may end up on their backside if they become a little too "chatty" if you know what I mean........

Infin I agree. Same with catchers that talk junk to the hitters, they will have to be aware of the up and in pitch too. I know it happens but i dont think there is any place for that kind of stuff on the field. They do it in college for sure, been there, but they dont do it in the bigs.

Trash talking is running rampant in all sports and in my opinion, eroding the game(s). I have ZERO room for this garbage in sports. As parents and coaches, we need to be mentoring these kids and bring back integrity and honor to the game(s), not contributing by lack of reaction when we see this junk. There used to be a difference between "student athletes" and street thugs but the line seems to be getting blurrier...we should all make it our business to get this to STOP !

Perhaps we should start a focus group..." PATT"...Parents Against Trash Talking!
