Current 10U player (he will be 11 on 9-4-13) moving from small town in South Georgia to Bishop, GA as soon as school gets out. He has played travel baseball (machine pitch) for the last three years. He is a switch hitter that hits for average from both sides of the plate, but also hits for power from the right side. He currently bats third and plays SS, but he can play any position (except pitcher). The reason he can not play pitcher is due to the county we are moving from is a GRPA member and the only type of baseball they offer for his age group is "machine pitch" and most of the recreation directors in that area will NOT let kids play up. He has had several coaches of "kid pitch" teams try to recruit him for their teams, but we didn't want to play "kid pitch" in travel and "machine pitch" in rec ball. We have also been told by numourous other coaches that his current travel team would beat the majority of "kid pitch" teams they have seen. His current travel team has played in 6 tournaments this spring with the following results:
1st place = 4 times 2nd place = 1 time 7th place = 1 time
I can provide references (ex. Recreation Directors, Tournament Directors, Bleckley County Middle School Head Coach, etc.) as to the skill level of my son if needed.
We are looking for any tryouts in the Oconee County area. I can be reached at rwa1018@yahoo.com or 706-699-3441. Thanks.
