The East Cobb Astros defeated the Cincinnati Flames 7-2 to win the Natioinal Amateur Baseball Federation Freshman Division (12U) National Championship. The title game was played at Hopkinsville,Kentucky in The Stadium of Champions, Tie Breaker Park. The Astros finished the World Series with a perfect 6-0 record during the four day event. Jamari Moore (Astros) was named the Rawlings World Series Most Valuable Player, finishing the series with a .700 batting average, hitting a total of three homeruns in the semi-finals and finals. Zach Bailey (Astros) was named the World Series Rawlings "Big Stick" Batting Champion, also finishing with a .700 batting average. Nick High, who hit only the third ever out of the park home run (300 foot fields), during pool play, hit for the cycle in the semi-final win over the host team, the Christian County Triple C's 21 - 8.
JoeJoe Marlow pitched a complete game in the finals. The Astros went 3-0 in pool play to take the #1 seed into bracket play.
