Congrats to the 13U East Marietta Mets for a number of accomplishments in 2012 that included an 84 game season that concluded with this past week in the 8 state Southeast Junior League Championship (ages 13-14) in Greenville, SC. While East Marietta did not win the SE, they did represent GA well after going 5-0 to win the GA State Junior League title in Columbus. Other accomplishments in 2012 included winning the 13-14 GSA State Title and the NWBA 13U Championship. The Mets also finished 1st or 2nd in 4 other tournaments.
Thanks for the kudos, that was a great run this year. The last two years we had lost to Warner Robbins in the state semi-finals so it was good to get over the hump. Then to have our 13U team go toe to toe and be tied 5-5 through 5 innings before losing to Team Florida (14U) in the SE region is quite an accomplishment when you consider Team FL went on to beat Aruba in the World Series held in Michigan. So I'm very proud of the ways the kids performed.
