Come One, Come All... Located in the heart of the Lassiter / Sprayberry / Pope / Kell / Walton / River Ridge High School area, Harrison Park, Marietta, GA will be the home of the Sandy Plains Baseball 8U Wildcats Travel Team.
We will be offering (2) Try-Outs for well-behaved athletes from good families interested in a well organized team that will have a ton of fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. We plan on playing a bunch of scrimmages over the 6 month off-season to get us ready for Spring Ball (50+ games). Your commitment and ours is for the year and we hope to improve your child’s baseball skills, etiquette, discipline, and sportsmanship; while having fun and enjoying the game for the game.
Sunday, August 5th from 3:00-6:00 PM – Harrison Park Field 1 Sunday, August 12th from 12:00 - 3:00 PM – Harrison Park Field 1
Team is coached by the SP Cougars All-Star Coaches from 2011 and 2012 Championship Teams, Marc Herrick and Rick Trowbridge. We will start the year with Coach Pitch Tournaments to avoid wearing out the young arms. We'll move into Kid Pitch about mid-season and finish that way. Our goal is to improve from a mid-AA Team to a mid-AAA team, and to also try and keep as many boys together as we long as we can.
Harrison Park- 2653 Shallowford Rd. Marietta, GA 30066. Amenities Available: 1 Picnic pavilion, 3 Playgrounds, 2 Concession buildings, 7 Baseball fields, Batting cages, 16 tennis courts. Sandy Plains Baseball Association- http://www.sandyplainsbaseball.com.prod.ngin.com/

Anyone who reads this should understand this is a NEW TEAM and this is an OPEN Try-Out for ALL positions. We are open to the best player earning his spot on our Roster and on the Field. . Sandy Plains has historically been one of the best Baseball Programs in the State of Georgia and the Southeast, competing for State and World Series Championships every year. . The grass is only greener on the other side of the fence because it's fertilized... with BS. Come play for a park and coaches who care about Development of players and the WINS will follow. |

Quick THANK YOU to all the parents who brought out their Ballplayer on Saturday, July 28th. Looking forward to seeing you again at one or both of the next (2) Sessions. We have only (2) spots secure for the coaches players, but even we don't know where they'll play. This is not going to be a Daddy Ball Team, we want the best to Play in the right positions. What we are looking for are Players with a Great Attitude and Focus and want to work hard for us. Thanks. |

I had a couple good questions that I wanted to pass along. There is NO COST to try out for our Wildcats. We will also work with the parents to only attend Tournaments that the majority would like, and not just the Coaches choice. Lastly, individual Sponsorships of your BALLPLAYER are permissible at SPBA and we plan to work with the parents to keep costs down while attending some great local tournaments. Hope to see you all at the park Saturday. Thanks. |

I've heard from some great prospects and am really looking forward to a great Try Out this Sunday. Please remember to bring plenty to drink as our Concession stand will NOT be open. Thanks. |
