Can someone please tell me how these teams are picked by U-trip. I overheard rhis weekend at State that the Atl Stars were getting a at-large berth. They are a talented team, but i can name a few teams that have a better resume and more talent. (gamers,Sig Park, Atl Blue Jays,'Gades) How does this work?? This is not a personal plug for my team, but the Renegades are more deserving |

JimmyDaGeek -The Atlanta Stars is a new team(formed in Feb) but with competitive/talented players that have a long resume...Many have played in Elite 32 (last year) and several have WON not ONE but TWO USSSA World Series 6u and 8U... We have played well in Super NIT's this year u should recall Gulf Shores ... Our players have dominated this age group for years regardless of the team and USSSA recognize it. As for your information, we rather earn a berth to Elite 32... Best of Luck to your team and the quest for an At Large-Berth! |

I hope U-trip doesnt go off 6U and 8U teams for a berth in 2012. Your team is solid, but my personal opinon is that there are several other teams that are better. we are talking about the "Elite" 32, not the Average 32. your players that dominated this age group for years definitely couldve earned a berth. Just my opinon. Good luck wherever you all go to play. |

SP, I guess it does come down to the money, just sad. Hope not, too many good teams in Georgia that would be very competitive at E32 |

I mean, I understand. They have to balance keeping the Elite 32, elite, and paying patronage to those teams that most support their business model. An at large birth would have been nice. Selfishly, I would have liked to see our kids compete at that level. But, we had our shots at qualifying. No sour grapes here. |

Guys-don't look for a handout to a tourney that takes hard work to qualify for. The Stars made it to a final of a SNIT (Gulf Shores, a team u beat in extra innings last weekend and lost to in Gulf Shores). They really wanted to go to E32 but it appears from a previous post that they will not go since they didn't earn it. You went to 5 SNITs and your effort should be commended but you don't really want to get in when you didn't really earn it do you? Congrats on finishing a "tough" season strong last weekend. |

I see where mayhem bad boys are going to elite 32 also. They didn't win a super nit. They haven't beaten a team that is entered in elite 32. |

Mayhem BBoys got in b/c 643 (supposedly) not going to E32. Mayhem finished 3rd @ Bama SNIT in Auburn. EC Braves had already qualified (Gulf Shores-Spring), w/643 giving up bid and EC Braves already qualified it goes down to the 3rd place team. It doesn't matter if they have beaten a E32 qualified team or not. |

JimmyDaGreek, you sound like you are sour. I'm just saying. If your team wins and get in then no questions asked right? The Stars kids probably have worked as hard as or harder than any other 10 year old kids in Georgia. Most teams wouldn't have survived what those coaches, parents and kids went through at the end of the season last year. My hat goes off to their organization for just staying the course while all the so called experts had all the answers. We all should commend those kids. I will say, I command all coaches, parents and plays on all levels for their hard work and dedication to the most precious resource we have (ours kids) and the greatest game in the world. |

According to a source...USSSA has formulas and metrics in place to calculate the necessary data that they collect. It's all there...win/loss record against teams in class/out of class, overall winning pct, winning pct against the teams that you have beaten/lost to, avg finish in tournaments, etc. I was told that they use this information to help them make an informed decision. They don't randomly select a team for a berth but they use this data in their decision making process. That's why they collect it...not sure if it's true but it makes sense to me. |

As always you are on the mark with your analysis/viewpoint!
Not sure what I'm going to do not facing you and the Titans for the remainder of the summer!! A tourney is not complete without a Titans/Braves go around! I hear there are actual Vegas odds out there!
My best to you and those hard fighting Titans. I've got Bill Gates working on the solution to top you guys for next year!
All the best.

Collin,
Thanks a million! You guys not only have a great team but a top-notch coaching staff. It's really been fun getting to know you guys over the course of the season. I think that we all have a common goal and that's helping all of these boys become better young men first, and then baseball players. Keep up the great work!
Are far as Vegas goes, when do we get our cut?
Lastly, Bill Gates is a genius in baseball too be you guys have a great "head start" on next season. Great baseball player, but better young man...and awesome family. I guess we better get Trump in here as a consultant because you are "one big up" on us at this point. :-)

We'll be at TBS and Coke Zero is my beverage of choice. Since we both added top-tier arms for next year, can we call a truce? |

Has Trump contacted you? He's sending his private plane down to pick up you and your son? We want to get a deal done by the end of the weekend. LOL

Will the Thrill,
Locked and Loaded!
And it's not a love affair...just good competition and sharing goals, values with our boys. That's what I love about baseball. Life lessons that are learned and shared.
We are blessed to have the talent at 10U, the families and sportsmanship that is shared.
BTW, Beagles nice try to getting me to reveal the identity of Cumming Baseball. I'm still trying to figure that out! |

Per the USSSA website, the Pensacola Blues are now in. It looks like only 3-4 at-large berths are left. |

HS, I hope those guys wake-up and see the light and extend a bid to SPT. With you all in the top 32 power-rankings nationally, and being willing and ready to go, it seems to be a no brainer! But USSSA can be so political for sure!
That's a good deal that your playing the TBS World Series event...Just as competitive if not more than the E32 this year.
Good luck and I'm still looking for the helicopter! :-) |

Will,
I will have Trump call you to work out the details. LOL
Our kids are very excited about the TBS tournament. It will be a great experience for them. You know me well enough to know that I won't comment on our team's E32 "worthiness" because we didn't win a Super NIT but thanks for the kind words. Our kids have grown and matured into a pretty good little darn baseball team that (win or lose) will fight to the end...and that's all I can ask. E32 or not, I'm am a very proud coach who is looking forward to the rest of this season and 2013.
