Gonna be a good time, weather should be stellar and nscuda01 and all don't forget about the golf which is very close to the Rivertown Baseball Grounds. We got a favorable schedule for some golf watching.

Here is my homer based prediction with some info on the teams we know.

1 CBC RiverHawks - Shawn has them playing as a team
2 RBI Regulators - Depends on who they pick up could be #1 if they play well
3 CBC Scorpions - PEaking for Cooperstown and hitting well
4 NSB Cudas - Lightning only strikes once
5 NF Hurricanes - Great pitching, Marc can coach
6 Kehoe CBC Sharks
7 Southern Boys - Playing well and great coaching
8 TPX Grey - If Toni buses in his first round draft pick ringers they come in #2 and move everyone down one
9 11U CBC RH - Pitching depth is only issue
10 VAA Renegades

RBI Regulators? Same ole regulator team with a semi-new name? Or a new team altogether?

What a ball game eked one out over NF Canes 9-8. RBI Regs looked strong.

If teams are bringing in studs to win a tournament would the parents of the main team not get mad? I know half of ours would protest and half would say ok to get a win. Where is the line drawn? I understand if kids our hurt or if there is a need.

If you can't beat them, than join them! Stop the unnecessary rants about this great group of boys that are under one umbrella!

TPX,

I do not know your team, and I have never even seen them play. But your statement above is one of the best I have read in a while.

The solo HR and grand slam were in the semi-final game. Riverhawks were kept in check for only 2 runs in semis. Did the players brought in help, sure they did that is why they were asked to play. The grey team was short some kids and that is the only reason they were asked to help. It was a total team effort and all players contributed on Sunday during the 3 games played to win the tournament.

well said as i know players of the A team chose not to play out of respect of the B team players. But learned it was just 3 players that were brought in as the B had 8. They did this on Sat but it didn't help and the final game win we understand resulted in the B teams player by a home run and a grand slam. So not sure if the 3 A teams members were a factor at all?

We witnessed a 10 CBC team that had brought a Blueclaws player or 2 to help them as they were short players or wanted a win? Really not sure whats happening with every team rosters but everyone continues to focus on the team thats winning.

Saw some great games yesterday and close ones. Great job by all the 12u players for all teams and venues.

It seems like there are conflicting opinions being posted.
NFBM says players were brought in because the team only had 8 players while TPXGREY12U says "I feel our team could have done this without help from our A-team" which doesnt sound like they needed players.

I find that very curious as well. It seems whenever the "Grey" team is in a tourny and the "A" team is off for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday games always seem to have several "A" team players playing with the "Grey" team. Just seems a bit odd that the parents on the "Grey" team would allow this to continue, ie...Are the "A" team players not getting enough play time? Or is there something else? Glory, trophy, local bragging rights?

I understand adding players due to injuries and sickness, I get it...

With that said, any victory that is attained through the help of "stud" players outside of you team is tainted and does not help the team or its players. Winning and losing with your boys identifies "things" that the coaches and players need to improve on...working on these "things" will make the coaches and players better in the long run. Isn’t that what it’s all about...everyone getting better?

As is the case with most forums, there is a lot of conflict on this post. When you look further, there is even more conflict within certain posters opinions. It is very interesting and telling when you see comments condoning the pickup of extra players when one's son is one of the pickups. Same poster will have issues with pickups when their team loses to a "loaded team" on other topics. "Do as I say and not as I do." "If I do something, there was a valid reason for it, but others do things for all of the wrong reasons." My comments are not directed at RBR08 as you seem to be pretty consistent on most topics. Can't say the same for some of the others posting to this forum, though.

I don't see the issue with teams picking up kids if the sanctioning association rules allow for that. If the kids are the right age and the coach is abiding by the rules, then why shouldn't they be allowed to play? If a coach chooses to play kids from other teams (yes, even if they are from the same organization) over existing players, then unfortunately the parents have a decision to make and may be forced to look for another organization/team.

The sad part about youth sports is that the kids just want to play and have fun. Too often, it is the adults that ruin it for everyone.

Amen, If it is not against the rules, It aint wrong. If it aint wrong there is no complaint. Most of the teams there this weekend had pickups on them as it was mothers day and some kids couldnt make it and had to be filled in for, It just so happens that tpx was off so the majority of pickups were tpx kids. As far as the tpx12ugrey post, I would like to think that if they are from tpx they atleast had the respect to approach the coach about the concerns before writing it on here, Although several of us believe it is one of the other evil programs trying to stir the pot. That which does not kill us only makes us stronger. Keep it coming. Congrats on the team victory this weekend TPX.

Players were not added to stack the roster to win. Two of the kids on the grey team from Lake City were not able to play so Team TPX helped them out. I don't see any complaints about Hurricanes, Regulators or Scorpions adding players for the weekend. Both teams have proven they are two of the strongest in Jacksonville.

Look at my underlined bolded post. Almost nailed it straight out. It was the A team ace that shut our bats down he pitched great and that is to be expected but he is not a perm fixture on that team if I am not mistaken.
