With hearing all of the 8U KP talk, there has to be some 8U CP's left? I might be out of touch but I do not want to go all year with nothing but KP tournaments. 3/4 years ago that's all there was in 8U.
Are we starting them too young? Spoke to a Diamondbacks Scout last week and he said he has always been very cautious of pitchers from Georgia/Florida area because of "worn-out arms". I know it's all about preparation and healing time between outings but it's makes you think?
With that said, I'm trying to host an 8U CP tournament at the end of March. Let me know if you're interested.
Our team folded for this exact reason. Parents did not want the kids pitching this early. I see both sides to the arguement of pitching at 8U. Our parents just sided on the cautious side which left mine back in rec ball where he/we did not want to be!!
We were hoping to have a good turnout like last year at the ATL SNIT for CP, but appears most teams in GA have went to KP full-time at 8u. Where is the tournament you are hosting end of March?
Out tournament is in Smyrna at Brinkley Park. See the tournaments page for "Coach Pitch Smyrna Tournament". We are hosting 7U AND 8U on 4 fields. Check it out we are trying to have a huge "carnival" like atmosphere for the whole family.
