So, what's the early predictions for the 9U Global Qualifier in Douglasville this weekend? I would think the Yard Dogs and Home Plate-Kearns would be the favorites based off their track record. I hope it stays dry! What do you guys think?

Newton County Rage
Parkview Panthers
Home Plate-Lewis
Home Plate-Kearns
Walton Warriors
Ga Yard Dogs
Gwinnett Storm
Bones Baseball

I think this tourney is going to be wide open for the most part. Your pre-tourney pics would be the safe assumption.

But you know as well as I do, there a couple sleepers in this tourney.

The Warriors broke off from Monster after the Fall season, they shouldn't be taken lightly.

I think it is very difficult to predict a February tournament, especially at 9U. It looks like a strong field. The yarddogs are a well coached/athletic team. We are looking forward to seeing some of the teams in this event for the first time (Newton County Rage, Parkview Panthers, Walton Warriors, Gwinnett Storm and Bones Baseball).

It's going to be a tough tourney - I agree with Linedrive. In Feb anything can happen. Working out the kinks is what its all about in the early part of the season. My pick has to go to Home Plate Kearns but don't count out the Yard Dogs, Warriors, or the Rage. The Rage gave the Angels a good game back in the fall....

What do you think gwstorm? Looks as maybe the pools are not evenly matched up according to points.

When there are 8 teams USSSA usually puts 1,4,5&7 in a pool and 2,3,6&8 in another pool. My understanding is that USSSA puts the pool schedules together based on a formula with points and they are not at the discretion of the TD's. I would like to know if this is not true.

WestCoastGuru-Our AAA points gets trumped by a major team regardless of their point total. Happens every time as well as it should I think. It's harder to earn points when your are playing tougher competition. We only played a handfull of quality teams in the fall, not many options out there. So I think it's fair...

Linedrive11-I think all SNIT's, State, and World Series tourny's have to go by points unless multiple classes like above mentioned. Regular tourny's are at the TD's discretion but most just go with the points, less headache trying to match up teams evenly.(I could be wrong)

I believe this guy did some research and got it pretty close. He seperated the two big major teams(H.P-K and Y.D's), the two recently reclassed major teams(N.C.R and P.P.), the newly formed mixed major teams(H.P-L and W.W.), and the two AAA's. Can't wait to see how we stack up. That's gotta suck for the two H.P. teams having to pay to play each other.

Playing 8 teams on one field in two days....not a good idea. If the rain causes the tournament to get behind schedule, then you don' t have any wiggle room to make up the time.

And the winner is Nathan "Do IT TO Them " Kearns man next week is going to be something in LaGrange. I think I know who will be on top but I will keep that one to myself. But I know if the Warriors and Gamers play that will be a good one to watch cause of what happen in the fall. Nathan I am happy for you and your staff cause I know how hard you guys have worked.

The Chilidogs and Yarddogs enjoyed a 7 inning 3 hour championship game. Both teams played a great competitive baseball game....by far the best game I have been associated with. Both teams fought their hearts out. To me, the best part of the night was seeing the yarddog players and chilidog players pray together prior to the game and then come together again after the game to pray and congratulate one another for their efforts.....a perfect picture of what is great about competitive baseball. Coach Greg and his coaching staff are a class act. We look forward to seeing your team in future events.... When you play the yarddogs your team will be tested.

Hats off to both teams this weekend. The Yarddogs showed they don't quit no matter what the score is, and Kearns's showed to be a top notch squad.

Congrats!

Congrats to Home Plate for a championship performance. You guys have one of those teams that others try to replicate. "No quit" is right for Coach G's Yard Dogs, congrats on a strong finish as well.

Yes the Yard Dogs are going to be a team to deal with. The speed from what I heard the have Yard Dogs is one of the major issues teams are going to have with them. I also heard they have good pitching so we will have to go and take a step back to get ready for them. As well as the other teams that played in this event.
