Hello All,

My 9 year old son is catching this season and we got him the mizuno samurai gear for his legs and chest but we are confused on the knee savers.

So my questions are:
1. Do most of your catchers wear knee savers at age 9?
2. If they do, what brand has been the best quality for you?
3. What size knee saver seems to fit a 9 year old?

Thanks everyone!

My 12 year old has been catching for years, and has always used knee savers. There is the risk that the catcher becomes "lazy" and spends too much time resting on these. But if he is trained correctly, it will not be an issue. I don't think the brand is a big thing. Any of them should fit, and since he is still growing; go cheap:-) I can't help with size, but they do sella youth size, that I would guess would be OK.

My son is 10 Yrs Old and has been catching for 2 Yrs and does not wear the Knee Savers. He tried them and does not like them.

Some boys wear them, some do not. Its your choice if your son likes them or not.
