With 30 teams in the 10U major division, making bracket sounds like it will be pretty tough. Will there only be 12 teams allowed in bracket or will that number be increased? Regardless, there will be some solid teams NOT make bracket.

If they use the same format as last year, most teams will have to use their best arms in pool play to make the bracket which should make for some great games.

It's a tough format but only the strong will survive!!!

It's all going to come down to pool play draw for sure. It also will not hurt for teams that have a pile of Utrip points that may help with the pool draw. Bottom line is if your going to make bracket, then win, you will have to earn it. I guess that's the way it's supposed to be.

Utrip Points won't matter much this early in the season. The Top seed team may have to play the Raiders or ECB Astros or a whole host of other good teams because teams that didn't play in the Fall won't have many points if any at all. This time of year Pool Play is a crap shoot.

Points in tournaments this competitive often create a "trap".

Say for example you're a lower seed (low points) and you play a higher seed (high points) like OTC. After their performance last year, their off season work, and off season additions, I expect OTC to be a rock solid team; maybe even the class of the southside.

Consequently, as the lower seed in my first pool-play game, I'm coming out of the box strong as I can with my best arm! OTC may come out with a #3 or #4 thinking that should be adequate to get the job done.

Suddenly, OTC is in a dog-fight with a lower seed's #1 arm and all bets are off.

Point is, it could be a critical mistake to play this tournament anyway but to come as strong as you can as often as you can if you have any aspirations of making it to bracket play!

Obviously, if you got 6 #1 arms like the HPCD's, NGR, ECA, ECB, and The Gamers you don't have much to worry about!

Hey Steel-Will, I'm just curious what exactly are #1 arms?

Tournaments like this usaually comes down to depth...how deep can you go on the bump... Also the adjustments made by the coaches will be critical...the talent pool in this age bracket is strong and you can't take any team for granted....
