Any thoughts on the Ga Stars and Stripes teams? I was informed this team COULD be one of the best teams in the state of GA? Anyone know anything about the players?
Well Ga-Stars good luck and bring us back a win!
I looked into this Stars and Stripes a while back and it seemed a bit pricey for 1 tournament. Based on my research it looked to be $1100. Does anyone know if thats what it turned out to be?

| Looking at their rosters, it appears that both teams are made up of players that were all-star, A, AA and AAA level last season. Stars are registered as a major and Stripes as a AAA. Would be tough to consider either to be one of the best in the State. |

| I know a couple of kids playing and I think the cost was more like 4-500 including partial uniform, 3-4 minicamps, and the tournament. I am not sure the calibar of the overall teams, but the people I know were very pleased with the level of instruction and coaching. |

In Florida now...doesn't feel much like Christmas when it's 85...LOL I'm coaching the Stars adn it is a great group of players. The stripes has another talented group of players too. I know the families are all excited about this trip. We will be having a great time in the sun, at the parks, and at the World Marriott. I can't promise a tourney win (we will try adn bring it home, but I can promise we will have a ton of fun.

| Georgia stars obviously weren't worried about pool play.... They went 3-0 in bracket play beating the 1 seed and 2 seed along the way. Looks like that stars team might not be so bad after all. |

| For those who haven't done so yet-- please check Bracket play standings-- the 10U thru 13U Georgia Stars teams are in the Semi-Finals. One game away from the Championship. I would consider this a pretty good showing. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE GEORGIA TEAMS!!! |

I agree but I am not sure many kids would be available this time of the year....This is one of the few times a year our boys get to rest those arms! I hope they pull it off....Probably wasn't easy for the parents/boys to travel that far and go 0-2 right off the bat...Bring it home! |

Big Dawg, you spoke to soon! Congrats to Ga Stars who came in third overall. The FL Braves turned out stronger than expected...

We should say Georgia came in 2nd, since the National Stars did some illegal pitching in fridays game. They had the kid change jerseys/numbers so it wouldn't be caught. The USSSA tournament director should have stepped in and disqualified them.

| Thats a good question!The coaches and tournament director had signed off after the game.It was the next day, when our bookeeper put it together and I am not sure how all that works. By that time we were in bracket play and a game away from the championship game. |

| What kind of coach would do this at 12, or for any age? What lesson is this for a kid, or a team? It is hard to believe that someone would actually do this, and think it was OK in front of kids. I have seen my share of questionable coaches, but this one takes the case. What an ego it would take to show that he is a "GREAT COACH" to his friends. These programs used to be for the kids but I guess it has changed. Where was the promoting organization with its enforcement policy? A life lesson: We won, and we cheated, but everybody looked the other way! |

Definitely sounds bad, but it starts much earlier than 12U and local rec leagues and all stars can be much worse than travel at times. Last year a kid was suspended for 2 games for throwing his glove in the dirt after he missed a play. The week prior a coach and his 2 assistants Knowingly and purposely played an illegal player to prevent a forfeit and lose thier chance to coach the all star team(they asked the rec for permission, got turned down, and tried to play him anyway). The punishment 1 game suspension. What could this have taught the other 8 players?
I am sure there are lots of bad, but I still believe most coaches would and will do the right thing. |

| I totally agree. This gave us as parents a chance to teach our boys about ''good ole life lessons''. It was pleasing to hear what my son had to say about the situation and the choice he would have made even at 12. |

| I am a Parent of one of the National Stars players. I was there to witness first hand what happened with the Uniform error. It was all on Stars and Stripes. As most parents knew the Org. messed up the uniform orders and had two numbers for this player. One number for his red jersey and another number for his blue uniform. Total screw up by Stars and Stripes. Totally understand how this created confussion. However this player wasn't the STUD. At the end of the day all the players were of the proper age. I hope this clears things up. The Georgia team was ok however didn't bring home the trophy. But please understand it wasn't due to this one player's uniform error nor the coaching staff. They were just out played. |
