pretty easy since there were only like 16 teams playing this fall, sandy plains had one of the braves big sticks playing with them so we don't know what they are like just yet. Also have to put the decatur vipers in there too.
Smash seems to be an interesting team, they got up to play the big boys really tough but then seem inconsistent with other teams. |

I think there are going to be some big surprises & a lot of upsets come this Spring! I guess we will just have to wait and see, this should be a very interesting Spring. ECB teams are not the only ones playing travel ball here in GA. There are a lot of other independent travel teams out there working VERY hard to perfect their game! Only time will tell!!!! |

Thanks for the mention JMO! We're excited just to receive consideration. As for the inconsistency that ECB PAPPI speaks of, that is called "growing pains". Smash started from scratch exactly 1 year ago. No park affiliation, no core group, just an idea followed by a handfull of tryouts. We have managed to put together a solid group of boys from 5 different counties who love to play baseball. I'll make no guarantees except that you will find us wherever the "Big Boys" gather come spring. |

Smash
Just call'em how I see em. I think you Phillies and Wildcats could possibly be moved up from AAA to major come mid season. All three played the major teams very tough in the fall. Some won, some lost, but for the most part they were close games. It will be exciting to watch in the spring. |

It's still early to be blowing so much smoke. Wait until the compitition is playing. Only a few teams played this fall, some hoping for a head start. I think the triple A teams will still be just that, just like last year. Compitition is healthy and it is good to set your sites on a high goal after all it is still 12 year old baseball. You might get lucky. |

Ecbpappi, thanks for the shoutout for the Decatur Vipers. We feel that we've improved our team significantly over last year and are pretty excited by how we played this Fall. We "quietly" compiled a 17-2 record this Fall...but, due to conflicts, we only played 1 ECB tourney this Fall, so I know we flew under the radar somewhat.
Obviously, all of these lists should always be taken with a grain of salt (esp since it's Fall baseball), but we are proud of our players for practicing/competing so hard this Fall, and are happy someone noticed the effort. We'll be playing in the big tourneys in the Spring--hopefully we'll continue to improve and compete hard. |

Fall is not a great barometer of the season that counts "the spring". This year will be telling as in the tourneys I have covered there is a shift with teams slipping and others moving up. The bottom line is that development and good coaching is winning out over purely talented teams with lesser fundamentals. |

JMO,
Great list of teams although I think our new 1 post "onmyway" has a very good point. There are alot of great 12U teams out there this year. I also agree with FLAAB that teams will shift in and out of the "top 10" and that development and good coaching will be a big factor in teams staying consistent over the entire Spring.
It seems that as the kids get older, one or two very talented kids (in particular pitchers) on a team may be enough to win a tourney or two, especially early in the season, but isn't enough to keep a team winning or getting better consistently throughout 60-80 games in the Spring.
With all these talented teams we may need a new "top 10" list every week. It is going to be a very competitive season.

Wow! There's still a lot of player movement! We still have two months minimum till things get started. Can't wait to see how it all shakes out. |
