Why do you care about rankings or labels, AA, AAA, major? What difference does it make? Let them play and then if it's still that important to you, rank them AFTER the state championships and World Series are over. You all argue about stuff that just isn't that important. Could we just stop it with the "this team is better than that one" predictions? It's all a load of dog poop anyway and everyone is going to come on here and trumpet their own team through some silly alias. Isn't One Way the guy that was telling us how great the Longhorns were last year? I guess his kid is an Astro.

Plus, this board leans WAY too heavy towards the East Cobb teams.

Just my 8 cents

He is still a Longhorn and by the way (sportman) were they the only team from east cobb to EVER beat the Braves and then turn around and beat Stealth in the same tournament, that would make them Great to me. What other team can say that? That is my 8 cents

Rankings don't really matter, it's more of people's competitive nature as to the reasons why they do it. Trying to figure out a way to rank teams has been talked about a lot on the board, head to head, overall record, tourney wins etc, there is no easy way to do it but that is why people want to talk about it so much.

As far as the AA/AAA/Majors classifications, you would be surprised how many parents care about this when deciding on a team.

Kind of agree with you. I think it's because most on here live through their kids and have high hopes. Don't guess there's too much wrong with that. However I don't guess any of us have learned lessons from MLB. One day the Yankees are on top, the next the Red Sox, Rays, Rangers, etc., etc., etc. That should tell us all that on any given day a Majors team could face an upset and the underdog comes out smelling like a rose, and any Majors team can beat the next. The rankings and horn-tooting does get to be way too much here. In the bigger scheme of things, what does it really mean? A bigger lesson is that most truths go unspoken. It is what it is.

Wow. I see not much has changed since my little break on the board. Our poor little team has to travel to Atl just to play in most tournaments. The local ones typically lose several teams once we sign up for the tourney or just tell us they cant afford for us to play because teams will leave. Luckily we are playing in a local tournament this weekend that has some good competition and btw three did drop out for other reasons I am sure. Im really looking forward to playing this Astros team that has made everyones list at or near the "top". Havent seen a roster yet too see where these kids came from but do believe one of mine from last year is with them. we are putting together a wood bat tourney in December as a cooperstown fundraiser for our team if anyone is interested.

Moccs,

It's gotta be tough. I know first hand that what you say is true. It never ceases to amaze me how often this happens. I know in your case it is magnified 100X but this goes on in lots of tourney's.

Look at it this way, it is their loss. They should be thankful to have a really good team locally like yours to measure themselves against, not to mention the fact that if they played you guys 4 or 5 times a year it would do alot to improve their team.

Traveling 2 or 3 hours to play in a tourney where teams won't drop out when they see whose playing sucks and I admire you guys for doing what's best for your players.
