At this age, the disparity between teams starts getting larger and larger. The kids who are talented and dedicated enough to play in college find a team with other kids who are talented and dedicated enough to do so as well. Usually at 16, 17, and 18, there are 5 or 6 good teams and everybody else. Heres my shortlist (in no particular order): ecb astros(both if the rumors of two teams are true), titans, longhorns, team gwinnett, and 643. |

The Astros will automatically be on this list (just one team. No two teams this year as final roster just came out).
Titans are looking to have a lot of the same personnel they had last year, as so are the Longhorns. Where you categorize both of those teams is always up for debate, as was seen during all the posts last year. Personally, I believe they will both have really good teams.
TG and 643 will probably have good teams, but there are several other teams that will probably be in the mix as well. Nelson Baseball has a good team, Team Elite has one or two teams that will be good, as will the Wildcats over at Sandy Plains, if last year is any indication. I think typically there is a lot of disparity at this age group, but I don't think we are seeing as much break-away as is normally seen. Maybe it goes to the depth of talent pool with this age group. Regardless, there are several kids at this age group, across all of these teams, that have the skills and talent to play in college. These next two summers will be big for them. Just winning tournaments become less of priority and getting visibility to scouts become of near equal importance. There are still tournaments, like the Triple Crown tournaments, that will be for winning, as scouts typically do not attend them, so there will still be a good mix of playing to win and playing to be seen. Quite a change from the years past. |

It's a huge change. For my son's team (17u last year), we did not play ANY tournaments to win until the PG events at East Cobb. Pretty much everything we entered prior to them (except maybe a 3 Crown event) were played to showcase the kids. Everyone got to play, there really was no strategy to win because the coach was much more concerned with making sure the kids were exposed to whatever scouts were there. I think that's the way it should be at the HS age. Scouts don't really care about who wins and loses. They care about the tools they seen in the kids that are playing. |

Can't believe I left team elite out. Their white team at 16s is usually very good, im not sure if theyll have a top-tier second team at this age. I had a chance to watch both sandy plains and nelson baseball play this fall, neither of them stood out to me talent wise. Unless they pick up some big horses this spring im not sure that theyll be very successful. Also pure hitters, big stix, and southeast baseball should be pretty competitive. |

Sandy Plains has 3 teams and I think the Fall version was a combination of the three. The Wildcats will be good, I don't know how the other two are shaping up. |

I would not use Fall baseball to assess any team's summer potential. Most of these teams did not include football kids and allowed kids to tryout out for their summer teams. The Wildcats and Nelson Baseball were perfect examples of that. |

What about the Atlanta Blue Jays? My son is not HS age yet, but I understand they usually have a talented team of kids heading to college or beyond. |

Yes Decatur Dad, Atlanta Blue Jays are very talented. The number one pick in the draft a few years ago played for them. There are many talented 16U teams (Team GA, Home Chili Dogs just to name a few others) out there with a lot of talented players that you may not hear about. They may not be as deep as the astros but a lot of their players get college scholarships. It will be impossible for every talented player in the Atlanta area to play for two or three teams. We are truely forunate to live in an area where there are many quality programs and teams to give players an oportuntiy to get better and play at the next level. |

GAME: you are on mark about Team Elite over Nelsons and Sandy PLains definitely.
Can not agree tho about 643 being a factor based on there results last year playing at 15Us unless the team turned over .
Yes I know 643 has a good name but you got to show results ta back it up.

What do you mean change how they do things? I've been around travel baseball for many years and, if you ask me, they do things better than most if not all. Unless you know something I don't. |

I KNOW OVER HALF OF LAST YEARS 16U TEAM ARE NO LONGER WITH THE PROGRAM. JUST MY OPINION IF YOU HAVE THAT MUCH TURNOVER SOMETHINGS NOT WORKING. BUT WHO KNOWS ALL THEIRS TEAMS HAD GOOD SHOWINGS IN GA STATE THIS FALL BUT NONE OF THE TOP DAWGS PLAYED IN IT. |

Are you kidding bomber? Im interested as well about how you think they do things. From my view, win or lose, that is their strength - how they do things. |

Anyone know where the current 16u 643 roster is posted? It's not posted from their main site. |

It's interesting how some people have such strong opinions about how good a team is going to be based on the Fall, or how well run their programs are based on no information at all. I don't have a kid playing at 6-4-3, but I can tell you that they run the program the way it should be run. If you dissected each team at any age group over at ECB you would see lots of turnover. If 6-4-3 had turnover, my guess is that it was a kid/parent reason. Kids get every opportunity to prove themselves over there.
Also, there are other teams/coaches that have been doing it right for years, yet they don't get the credit they deserve because they are not an ECB team, or they no longer coach over there. There are very good teams outside of the ECB complex. But admitting that means that the additional money you spent having that name across your son's chest wasn't worth the extra $1,000. |

@bomber. their fall team was a combination of the a and b team. Why is everyone hating on 643? |

I heard TPX Dodgers out of Peachtree City was going to be good. They did well at the FT Meyers PG last year at 15 and placed 5th and placed I think like 18th up at East Cobb. Can anyone confirm that? |
