Mayhem Bad Boys look to be top team in 10U after winning Triple Crown State. Caught the East Cobb Braves game and boy do they hit the baseball!! The lefty they threw at the Braves absoultly shut down a good hitting team and appears they kept the bats rolling in the ship beating a sound North Ga Renagade's team. Gotta say congrats to Bad Boys! Class Act! |

As I said at the conclusion of the 'ship last night: "hats off" to the Bad Boys. Very good team with a lot of class. We look forward to playing them again.
As for the tournament, it was pretty good for the most part. For once, no complaints about the umpiring. It was actually pretty good for all of our games. However, we will most likely not play in any more TC events if they don't change some things. They are, by far, the most expensive tournaments to enter and what do yu get for your money??????: Fields not dragged, much less re-lined between games. For the championship game, they drug the field, but the base lines, batters boxes, etc. were pretty much gone and they did not re-line. On top of that, these kids fight their butts off all weekend to get the the championship and they expect some "hardware" for their efforts. What do they get from the most expensive tournaments to enter - a medal. Yes, even for first place! What is TC spending all the money on? Isn't this supposed to be about the kids? Spend it on them. The plaque for the coach was pretty nice, but I have enough of those. Spend the money and get the kids something they are excited about and will remember. A cheesy medal will end up in the bottom of the closet or a drawer. A nice trophy, they will proudly display and take care of. Hope TC sees fit to change a few things or we'll be playing elsewhere. |

Are they still generic medals that can be used at any tournament and for any age group? |

I think that goes for all tournament directors and sanctioning bodies; the boys DON'T like those cheezy medals and you can toss all those "champs wear the rings" events as well. Those rings are straight out of a cracker-jack box". Do they still make cracker-jacks"?
Just give the boys decent trophies and stop trying to be "creative". |

I like Mayhem as well. However, there still are some very, very dangerous 10u teams that choose not to play fall ball and we haven't seen.
The Buzz Baseball team will remain a top threat and the 10u East Cobb Astros (9u Longhorns) are always formidable. We know these two will be at the top.
The Elite Gamers finished STRONG last season and with new and improved coaching, should battle well.
Homeplate-Vandergriff, Yarddogs, BackYard Boyz, Dallas Tigers and the Raiders all could do some damage if they stay intact.
It's going to be fun at 10u for sure. |

Heard the Raiders have disbanded, might be a Raider team....but know for a fact that 90% of the team as 8 year olds have left! |

What about MGBA and OTC? I thought Yarddogs dissolved? Don't sleep on Sig Park. They are unbeaten in Winder this fall |

Seems to be ALOT of moving around this fall. Would be fun to take a "snap shot" of listed rosters NOW and compare them all April 1rst. I'm not sayin I'm just sayin! |

I agree with 22202, The teams we see in spring will not be same as now, in alot of cases. Also, I believe alot of teams use fall tourneys to see what their teams do with different player make ups and develop weaker pitching. Our team is as it will be in spring, but we use pool play in fall tourneys to develop our players at different positions, and then reel it in on brackett day. |

I never understood the mass team jumping that goes on. I suppose some of it the search for better coaches and some is disgruntled parents. I'm sure there are parents that think the grass is always greener, and what coach doesn't want one more good pitcher or stud shortstop?
The last I looked, there are no signing bonuses or pro contracts for 10u. When these kids get ready to play High School ball, they will be evaluated on their athleticism and their fundamentals, not on the fact they held East Cobb scoreless for 2 innings when they were 9. Baseball is always better when the kids make more decisions than the parents.
