Sandy Plains Baseball Association(SPBA) 8U Wildcats are having a tryout at Harrison Park (Next to Lassiter high school (2653 Shallowford Road Marietta, GA 30066) on Saturday, November 12 from 12 - 2pm on field number 1. There is no charge to tryout. This is the first Sandy Plains 8U Travel team and our purpose is to give these players (who are coming from Coach Pitch) a head start on kid pitch ball with some professional instruction. There will be indoor & outdoor workouts (weather permitting) in the winter to get ready for early spring tournaments. We will scrimmage some other Sandy Plains teams that are kid pitch, but all initial tournaments will be coach pitch. The Wildcats will be hiring an X-MLB pitcher or (pitching instructor) in order to teach the players proper pitching and to get ready for some late spring or early summer kid pitch tournaments. Although this is the inaugural year for this 8U team Sandy Plains Baseball Association has an over 50 year history of excellent baseball in the East Cobb area, with numerous strong travel teams and a wealth of knowledge involving the travel arena. We also have access to both Sandy Plains parks (Sweat Mountain (5 fields) & Harrison Park (7 fields)) and have been guaranteed numerous practice and game slots as well as access to a number of travel tournaments hosted by Sandy Plains including many fund raising opportunities. Numerous travel programs in the area try to use our fields because most don’t have nearly enough fields for practice and by the time you find this out its too late. We currently have a few slots open for the coming year. For information or questions please contact Steve Curran, Email SOGLS@comcast.net or (770) 880-6460.
