It all comes down to a father willing to put it together. Most of the best players that would go to that school play somewhere else during the summer. Plus they don't get much field time because the field is used almost everyday for tournaments during the summer. You need to ask the HS Coach why he doesn't have a feeder team. Most feeder teams couldn't beat a 12U or 13U major team. 50% of those kids don't even make their high school JV squad.
Oldmanmj, you crack me up sometimes. Your straight forward honesty is appreciated. There is entirely too much tip toeing around this board with answers that don't answer anything or opinions that are simply regurgitated from something that person read previously. If the boys played baseball like many post on this board we might as well not keep score and give everyone a "good try" trophy at the end of the game. Lol.
Glad I could make you smile. I don't think we are doing anyone any justice by not stating the obvious. We all want our kids to get better and compete at the highest level. Not all of us are lucky enough to have good coaching all the way, or even play for really good teams all the way through. I know Big Shanty has teams, but changing the names doesn't alway protect the innocent...if you know what I mean. I my opinion, HS coaches have feeder teams when it generates $$$ for the team. Kennesaw makes more money renting the field during the summer than working the younger players coming to into the program. Or they can't get the players they really want to come out because they play else where. You are also right about the posting, I would think by now all of our sons would have gone in the 1st of the MLB draft and would be starting soon. Also I think every team would be most major league teams.....just kidding.
