5 GA teams have made the top 16 cut and are now in bracket play for the Triple Crown Summer Nationals championship title in Myrtle Beach. All 5 teams went undefeated in pool play.
As of Sat at 6:24pm JCS Jackhammers are still undefeated and moving into the quarter finals along with Lynx baseball. If both teams win on Sunday they will face each other in the semi-finals.
ECB Tigers and both 643 teams are still in the running but in the loser bracket now.
As of Sunday at 2pm. Lynx baseball has advanced to the semi finals undefeated.
JCS Jackhammers (lost their first game this morning) and ECB Tigers are in the Loser bracket and potentially going to play each other tonight to see who advances. (Tigers are playing now in a must win game).
Update 4- ECB Tigers and JCS Jackhammers are squaring off at 8pm after a 4 hour rain delay to see who advances. The winner will have to win 4 games on Monday to win the tournament.
The LYNX just lost to the New York Grays. The coach for the Grays told one of the LYNX's dads that about half of their team consists of East Cobb players. Go figure. I guess the East Cobb name carries weight all the way to New York.
The East Cobb Tigers just lost to the Oklahoma Bearcats. The Lynx are about to play the Bearcats. They played yesterday with the LYNX edging them 10 - 7.
Update- Lynx baseball is in the Championship game after beating the OK team 15-6.
My son is on JCS and we played the NY team. They only have 10 players here and none of them play for ECB. We know almost all the Astros, Titans and Tigers players (these are the only ECB teams that someone would try and pick up talent from) and neither we or the ECB Tigers knew anyone from the NY team. Check their pitching roster for the names. They have 20 players listed but only have 10 but you can still check that against GA team rosters for players.
The LYNX beat the Oklahoma Bearcats 15 - 5. The LYNX and New York Grays are playing in the championship game now. A Gray win will end it. A LYNX win will force the IF game.
I am friends with a dad on the JCS team. We spoke yesterday after JCS played the Grays and he told me that they only had 10 players in the dugout which seemed strange to him.
Today, when the LYNX played them they had 11 players in the dugout. The coach from the Grays told one of our dads that they had kids from East Cobb on the team. Go figure.
The Grays just beat the LYNX to win the Triple Crown Summer Nationals. You have to tip your hat to them. They played great ball the entire tournament. The LYNX did well, too.

So what is your point relative to East Cobb players ? If it's within the rules I don't understand your comment. If it's not within Triple Crown rules then I assume a protest would be in order ? But why bring it up ? Just trying to understand motive ?
I guess the point was that ECB is known even in NY.
I'm still in Myrtle Beach and my son plays for JCS. We played the NY Greys and the ECB Tigers were there also. There were NO ECB players on the NY Grey team that anyone from either team recognized. Not sure which JCS Dad gave that info. but it was wrong. Check the roster.
They were a very good team though. They had the least amount of players of any team there and went undefeated.
Please note that my comment about the Grays having East Cobb players was not a complaint or dig. It was a compliment that the East Cobb program is so widely known.
Also, the JCS dad did not say that the Grays had East Cobb Players. It was a coach of the Grays that made the comment to one of the LYNX dads.
There was never any reason for a protest because TC is what I call old school......you get up a squad and go play. No classifications, etc. May the best team win. You kneow the job was dangerous when you signed up for it.
Regardless, the Grays were a very good team and did what it took to win the tournament. Like I said in an earlier post......you have to tip your hat to them for their efforts and performance.
Agreed, the Greys played great all the way around.
BUT.... Let's not lose sight of the the big picture here. 3 of the top 5 spots in the Gold bracket were GA teams when the dust settled. Still pretty good IMO.
