How did this turn out? I know the Gamers were down there and they are stacked.
What is the website for this tourney, I can't find it anywhere.
My sons team ended 3 weeks ago and I thought we needed a break, but I'm wishing we were playing in a World Series. |

The OP Sharks won the 2nd session of the Grand Slam World Series. The OP Sharks got by the Gamers 6-5 in a great 8 inning game in bracket play and came out on top in the end winning the final two games against the Cherokee Reds on Saturday to take the Championship. |

Thanks so much!!! The boys played fantastic baseball all week and we were fortunate enough to avenge an early morning loss to the Reds and win twice against them to claim the 'ship. Hats off to the Reds, they have a great ball team.
The Elite Gamers matchup was one of the best 9U baseball games I have witnessed or been a part of. 2-2 thru 7 innings... We scored 4 runs in our top of the 8th. Gamers battled back to get within one and our CF made a game saving catch in the gap with runners on to seal the game. I believe that game gave us the confidence we needed to finish the week strong.
There was some TOUGH competition during session 2, so we feel fortunate to be the last team standing.

| First off congrats to all who made it to 2nd session in P.C...lots of competitive baseball. @ Phattso, congrats to O.P for the victory, ya"ll played hard and deserved it. What I don't agree with is the way you downplayed the catch......it wasn't just game saving, it was Willie Mays"esque" lol! That kid made a helluva catch and deserves big props. Again, big props to O.P. glad to be a part of such a special event but now....its football time! Cya |
