The Coal Mountain Raiders will be holding tryouts for the upcoming Fall and 2012 Spring Season. Tryouts will be held at Coal Mountain Park Field #8 on Saturday July 16th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and on Sunday July 17th from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM, individual workouts can also be scheduled if unable to attend.
In 2011 the Raiders have played approximately 55 games during the spring season and we look to build off of that by playing a fall schedule of 3-4 tournaments and some Sunday doubleheaders; working around the football season, and then play in the Lanier League and 7-9 tournaments ending with an out of town tournament (TBD) in late June early July, 2012.
The Raider coaching goal is to continue to develop players to ready them for High School Baseball by continuing to teach the advanced fundamentals of baseball while fielding a competitive team. The Raider family will also volunteer for at least two community events throughout the year.
The Raiders will look to add 2-3 players to a solid nucleaus of returning players. We are looking for players that have the attitude and respect to work hard in a great team environment, have a high baseball IQ and travel experience.
