The Astros defeated Tennessee Rawhide, 10-6 in the Atlanta Super NIT finals yesterday afternoon. Good job, boys.

Oh, and contrary to what I heard at the park this weekend, the Astros did NOT bring in "five new players" just for this tournament. It was eight.

Just kidding.

TaterHater...I heard that you guys brought in some help from south of the border ( yep, US border ) and these kids have no birth certificates and drove to the game(s) ! I'm also hearing your team now has an interpretor ?

On a serious note, congrats on the tournament win.

26 teams-4 states great tourney
Astros prove they are best team in south-maybe entire country
Rawhide-great performance-won Alabama-runner up here-proved they can travel and win
MGBA braves/JCS Hammers-great effort just a little short
LA Tigers/RR blue-best game of tourney
6-4-3 Cougars-biggest dissapointment

There is a reason that Dave Roberts (Astros Head Coach) and the 14U East Cobb Astros have won the Elite World Series 4 out of the last 5 years. All with a different set of kids each year. While people will say "He gets the best players around here.", he still does a great job of developing those players into well-rounded baseball players who execute as a team.

I don't want to jinx him, but it looks like he has strong team to make another run again this year.

+1 on the RR vs LA Tigers game. Drama, big moments and the benches cleared at the conclusion due to the ultra competitive environment that ended in a close double play to end it. Words got passed and it was a bomb waiting to go off. Luckily nothing came of it but it was exciting.

Astros did have at least one up from FL but they are without a doubt the top team and have defeated everyone that they have faced all season. #1 in my book.

JCS had the Rawhde beat but left in the starter 1 inning too long and Rawhide took advantage of the mistake and put up 6 to tie then eventually won by 1 in the bottom of the last inning. Great baseball all around.
