As I have been noticing, there have been alot of 13U injuries around the different parks. I would like to send my thoughts and prayers out to the young man from the 643 who sustained a severe head injury yesterday at the Kennesaw Shootout. If anyone knows how this young man is doing, please reply. I am sure others would like to know as well. |

My information is 3rd hand, but I heard 2 East Cobb coaches talking about it today as they walked into the park at ECB. The one coach talking about him said that there was apparently some severe damage (ie spinal fluid leaking out of somewhere) but that the operation had been a success and they were hoping and expecting a full recovery within the next 3 months. |

He is doing well. His surgery went well and his prognosis is good. The latest scans were good and he was able to walk around some today. Please keep the prayers going for him and his family. |

Talked with a 643 parent tonite...Fly ball to right center, RF and CF going for the ball. CF backs off at the last minute as RF dives for the ball, and his forehead connects with the knee of the CF...After a few minutes the umpire says call EMS, and they do. At the time that they do, spinal fluid is draining out of the kids nose. When the person I talked to took off the kids hat to look at his head, there was a severe indention in his skull (he said you could have put a lemon in his forehead, that was the size of the indention)....He was life flighted to Scottish Right, emergency surgery last night, and as of 4pm today a good prognosis. Still in ICU, blurry vision in one eye, but the no permanent brain damage SO FAR. GOD BLESS THIS KID....Prayers to the 643 Family, and in particular JT. |
