I can't figure the Elite Gamers Red out because they have real good players but have been struggling lately. Pitching is good and that number 10 can really hit the ball also. I dont think it would be considered a big upset because dbacks are a decent team also. |

I think it's an upset. Gamers is a good team from all the games we have seen. I think the Diamonbacks will now get the 2 seed in that pool. I think Viper will beat the Diamonbacks but Gamers will beat Viper and ECB Diamonbacks will be the 2 seed. Looking forward to seeing the games tonight. |

We have never seen Vortex play. We called Stealth and they got them at the 12th hour in place of the Megastars. We were just thankful they could come on such short notice. I really didn't want any forfeits and it would have screwed up one of the brackets with an odd number of teams after pool play.
The Bomberz said they are a good, solid team and I think they are from south GA. That's all I know. |

I think that only 5 teams can win this thing. Team FL, ECBraves, Stealth, Grasshoppers and Pokers. I would say the 6th would be the Cincy Flames but I haven't seen them in a year so I'm not sure they could win enough games.
I also think many teams can beat all 6 listed above so they could get to the semi's or finals just not deep enough to win it. just my five cents. |

Team Florida and Stealth are the top two teams in this tournament followed closely by the Pokers and Braves. There are another 6-8 teams who are all comparable but would need a perfect game to upset these 4 teams.
Not sure why the Cincy Flames are getting all this luv, isnt this the same team that got beat by the Stars something like 15-2 last season? Grasshoppers have a decent draw, they could make a nice run on the left side of the bracket. |

That would mean the Diamondback would have to beat some team called Team Florida, not happening |

Vortex is solid. They have a pitcher who can really bring it. |

No the Diamonbacks won't beat Team FL but they will still get the number 2 seed if they go 1-2 because I think every team will go 1-2 in that bracket other than Team FL and they will win the tie breaker.
I have not seen the Flames play in over a year so you might be right. I guess we will see how these out of state teams measure up. |

Youre right, what was I thinking, Cincy is a just an average ball club that deserves no luv, especially based on what happened a year ago, no idea why they would drive all this way just to play baseball?!?! |

Coach, A team that travels a long way doesn't mean their able to play with the best in the area or in this case one of the better AAA teams. So far the favorites are beating up on the competition. Cincy better watch out because they might go 0-3 in pool play, glad you came around to my thinking. |

Vortex is a hitting team. Struggle on defence and have couple pretty good arms. Type of team you realy don't want to play cause if the bats get on roll there tuff. |

Despite some of the complaining, this is a great tournament! Hats off to the Braves for organizing. But agree w/ECBInsider......Can’t help but wonder about the brackets post pool play.......most of the strong teams are on the right side EXCEPT the Braves (and maybe Jacksonville). Hmmmm. Is it really fair to have the Stealth, ECB Rays, ECB Longhorns, Team FL, and Bama Buzz all play each other in the same bracket and have the Braves save their pitching? Guess we’ll know at the end. |

okay baseball junkies, the brackets have been set and the top 4 teams in this tournament have been beating teams like a rented mule! Braves, 3-0 and 1 run given up, Team FL 3-0 and 3 runs given up, Stealth and Hoppers both 3-0 and 7 runs given up. I just dont see an upset happening and all 4 show up in the semi's on Monday.
The hoppers have a tough opening game but if they can get by them then they nobody can beat them till semi's. Team Florida vs. Braves is shaping up to be one heck of a game, too bad it'll be on the lil field. |

Don't understand the rationale in the setting of the gold bracket. Why would you not seed the teams based on pool play. It appears that some 3-0 teams and 2-1 teams will a low RA have to play 2-1 wild card teams instead of the 1-2 wild card teams. Doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe with bracket with 32 teams it's too hard to seed by traditional methods? |

USSSA seeds by pool and not necessarily by overall seeding. So, winner of pool A plays 2nd place in pool B. That is the way most usssa tournaments get seeded.
On the bright side, most of the teams will be able to enjoy the memorial day off to cook out and swim! |

It just seems like it would make total sense for the 8 #1 seeds playing the 8 wildcards in round 1. Having some of the #1 seeds playing #2 seeds doesn't seem like a real reward for winning your pool. |

I agree totally. There are some 2-1 teams playing the couple of 1-2 teams that made the gold bracket. For example the Viper Baseball at 2-1 who didn't win their pool is lowest seed to make the Gold Bracket the 1-2 Vortex team. The Format is the Format and it's been a great tournament so far. Some outstanding baseball |

Prayers for the Simpsonville boy who took the comebacker......Sad when a boy like that gets hurt!! I hope all the talk of cheated up bats, and carrying bats to the parking lot during a game was just talk. It would be a shame for a boy to get seriously injured or even permanently injured because daddy wanted his little Johnny to hit bombs.....Shaved bats are for MENS SOFTBALL!!!!
Also regarding the brackets....Doesn't take a pro scout or a rocket scientist to see which side has tougher teams....There are obviously a couple VERY strong teams on the other side but I would have no problem saying 5-6 of the top 8-9 are on the right side. |

wow! some great games at ECB on Sunday and some big fireworks as well. Hopefully the simpsonville kid who got hit is doing well and the rumors of shaved/rolled bats is incorrect.
Anybody who would shave/roll a bat at 11U should be banned for life from travel ball, the kids safety is in questions and they should be ashamed of themselves to cheat just to win some games. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. |

Braves vs. Grasshoppers will be a great one, I would think their big gun will take the mound for them in that game. It's hard to judge the braves so far since they've only faced 4 aaa teams and 1 low major team so far and have been able to save all their pitching. If its a close game, got to give it to the braves as they will execute down the stretch.
On the other side, is team florida playing possum? they haven't been putting up big numbers and have a date with the cinderella columbia county team. should be hum dinger of a memorial day!!!
