I'm looking for 2012 bat clarifications in two areas;

1) Are composite bats banned next year completely? I heard there were some bats that might be allowed that had some composite parts.

2) Starting next year for our age group (13u next year) will the players HAVE to have a -5 bat or is this just a recommendation? I've heard it both ways.

Thanks,

Curt

Here are the USSSA bat rules for 2012:
http://www.usssa.com/usssa/usssa-general/BaseballBatPerformance.htm
Composites are not banned outright, but they must meet the 1.15 BPF standard, and the manufacturer must have the stamped the bat with the "USSSA 1.15" mark.

As far as I know, the bat rules haven't changed for any other organization, UNLESS they use NFHS rules, which require all bats to meet the BBCOR standard.
