Interesting. And quite possibly true. Should be a good tourney. |

Frydaddy I think you are with Cherokee. It looks like you guys have quiet a team this year from your USSSA record. Good luck and hope to see you guys there.

My mind says Sandtown but my gut says someone will step out of the shadows and beat Sandtown with a lot of luck on their side. |

Looks like some pretty bad storms coming thru Friday into Saturday. How do you think this tourney will be affected if they can't play Friday night/early Saturday?

Looks like Sandtown pulled it out in the gold by beating the Astros. Has EC started grouping the better kids at 12U? I thought they usually waited until 13 or 14.
Cherokee (TN) won the silver. I understand they have a pretty good team. Kind of surprised with Cherokee's strong showings this year that they didn't make the gold. It even looks like they almost dropped to the bronze with their 1-1 pool record (24th seed). |

We will chalk it up to a bit of TC inexperience and some untimely bad pool play in giving up too many runs to some really good teams. it almost cost us, as you said, to be dropped to the Bronze (even though that was pretty good). Overall had a great experience and played some good competition. Hats off to all the teams we played and especially Georgia Select Red who has a terrific, fundamentally sound team. Hopefully will see you GA boys around again soon - maybe in Ooltewah in mid-May. |

Frydaddy, no matter what brackets you guys ended up in. You have one heck of a team. Serious talent, power, good pitching and obvioulsy well coached. But as you all know the dramatics of baseball is why we love to compete so I will enlighten you guys on the play of the tournament. Cherokee vs. A's bottom 2; Cherokee up 4-1 and the A's starting to put together a nice inning. No outs man on 1st and 2nd we call double steal/ great jumps and gonna be safe no problem. Batter gets nice outside fast ball to hit behind runner as he is coached and hits a bullet down the line that might not have stayed fair(1st baseman playning up an on the line -not sure why - 2 strikes not gonna bunt) the first baseman grabs the liner backs up touches 1st throws to 2nd for the easy triple play since our runners had stolen their bases and were looking to score. Unbelievable play and certainly made our come back chances tough from there. As they say if it weren't for bad luck we would have no luck at all!! Great 4 game run on Sunday no matter the bracket. Hope you guys can make it back for the next TC even in a few weeks that looks to have even more teams than this past weekend. |

This could seriously start a new topic, but how about this play: Team up 13 to 4, final inning, the team that was behind has its bats come alive, scores 4 to make it 13 to 8. Bring in new pitcher. Man on first. First pitch, grounder between mound and first. First baseman fields, throws to second for the force. Next pitch, grounder between mound and first, first baseman fields, throws to second, second baseman throws to pitcher covering first for DP. 2 pitches, three outs, game over.
