This tournament is getting bigger by the day. There are now 13 teams in it. Anyone have any predictions on this one? I have only seen 2 of these teams play; anyone have any feedback on some of these teams?

Right now . . .
HP Foster
HP Brown
NG Scrappers
Ga Nitro
Jefferson Heat
FB Falcons Red
Habersham Hurricanes
Ga Mudcats
Commerce Cubs
Grayson Rams
Sandy Plains Prowlers
East Side Tigers
Dacula Falcons

My team (Fayette Force) jumped in today. Its a drive up from Fayette County but if two of the HP teams can do it then so can we ;)

Love the Facility, but they have to do something with those fences, keep your head on a swivel.

FYI...I believe field 3 is 65' and 46'. I thought it looked small a couple of weeks ago so I stepped it off.

Well run tournament though.

I heard that one of the fields was 46/65. I sure hope the TD does not use this field for 11 year old ball or we will not play In One of his events again!

The backstop fences are really low, and when there are games on all fields balls seem to be flying around. I have 2 young children as well as my 11 yr old, and it can get dangerous.

What teams are in danger of getting bumped to AAA?
Force?
HPCD Brown?
Sting?
Select?
Sound off...

At least one of those 10U teams looks like they could make some noise in this tournament. Of course, I am only looking at their results...I haven't seen either team in person.

Lots of teams have added since my original post. Looks like as of today it's at 17. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate for no more rain on the weekend. Hope the fields are draining well this week! Seems like the 10U East Cobb team is pretty good. I think Fayette Force may go pretty far in this one. NBCFYOY-Don't think HPCD Brown is quite ready for the jump to AAA; if they do they will be lower tier. They have some great players but not enough pitching to hang with the top AAA teams. I think the Force could and should be AAA. Just IMHO.

The EC Yankees are a 10U major team and thus by USSSA rules need to enter 11U AAA level tournaments, you can play down one class when playing up an age group. The other 10U team is fine, why is the tournament director allowing this to happen?

I hope you are right, but my team seems to struggle on Sundays. This year we are 5-7 in bracket play. All of the boys on our team have played before but none of them have been on teams that were considered to be elite. In fact, I am pretty sure that none of them have been on a team that was over .500 in tournament play. We seem to fold under pressure especially in the games that we should win. I sincerely hope that we will get over that this year and learn to be winners. One coach who frequents this board has said the same thing to me over and over for months now...."Tony, when your boys learn how to win they are going to be dangerous". I surely hope he is right and that it happens soon!!

I looked back through my old emails and last year I got the USSSA Reclassification Email that goes to all coaches on May 9th, so I assume it will happen around the same time this year.

Pappi you are right. If a major team plays up in age it can only go down one class. With this rule the 2 10 major teams should not be allowed to play in this event.

But the TD wants the money!

Usually the TD would just change the tournament division after all teams have signed up. A major team can only play up to AAA. Practically what I have noticed is(example)several 12aa teams have signed up and an 11 major wants to play . The 12 aa teams say ok and TD changes to 12 aaa tournament listing and everything is taken care of. I do know that because they were having problems getting tournaments to make earlier in the season they made some exceptions. I imagine the same thing is going on here but believe that if prior to brackets if the division hs not been changed and teams protested then the major teams would be removed. A better solution is usually to combine for pool play then break up on Sunday elimination. JMO..

Man there are some very solid 10U teams in this one and possibly could have one of these win the whole thing...should be a great weekend of baseball regardless.

Up to 21 teams. Should be good tournament.

Three 10 majors should make it interesting (right or wrong)

Seems like they combined the teams from the Snellville AA tournament into this one to make a total of 21 teams....I assume that is why the schedules are not out yet. Hopefully they will be soon.

As for the 10U teams, I like that they are not scared. In fact, looking at some of their records I think that some of us 11U teams may need to be a little scared. I guess deep down I hope we don't have to face them....if you win you were SUPPOSE to win because you are older....if you lose then YOU LOST TO A 10U TEAM! LOL!! :)

I'll say Signature Park Falcons 10u and EC Yankees 10u in the ship without looking at pool brackets. Signature Park Falcons winning it all....

Watch out those 10u teams are for real!

Go Gwinnett!

verified with a director that it's technically a rules violation for 10u majors to play 11u AA. Only one class drop is the rule. could be that 10u's have a disadvantage with the pitching mound being an extra 4' and bases at 70'.
