I know that different people come to this board for different reasons.....some like to be the Swami and try to predict the winners, others like to complain about sanctioning bodies or umpires....but let's see if in this thread we can share some real information.

The 11U Super NIT (all classes) will be played on 17 fields in 9 parks. I bet between all of us we have played on all 17 fields at some point in the past. Tell us what you know about the fields. Are they dirt infield? Artificial Mound? Short Backstop? Pitchers Park or Hitters Park? Manicured grass or Modified Cow Pasture? Etc. Feel free to throw in any other positives....are the concessions good? Bathrooms bearable? etc.

Let's try to keep it informative and not too negative. Let's see if we can help each other.

Here is the list of parks.....

11A - North Ola Park, Field 1
11AA - JP Moseley Park, Fields 2,3
11AA - Hidden Valley Park, Field 5
11AA - Sandy Ridge Park, Field 2
11AA - Gerald Matthews Park, Fields 6,7
11AAA - Hidden Valley, Fields 6,9
11AAA - South Walton, Fields 1,2,3
11AAA - Strongrock Christian, Field 4
11MAJ - Gerald Matthews, Field 4,5
11MAJ - RW & ML Coley Park, Field 3
11MAJ - Warren Holder Park, Field 4

I will even start it off, myself......

Hidden Valley Park
Grass Infields and Dirt Mounds. Fields are fairly well maintained. I have seen better, but I have seen much, much worse. Field 9 is a hitters DREAM park especially considering they are playing AAA there. Very short fences (maybe 200' tops). Short backstop. When they move the bases back to 70' it put our SS and 2B into the grass and that took a bit of getting use to for them. Fields 5 and 6 are more like our normal size fields (maybe 225). Unless they have fixed it from the Fall, field 5 has two good-sized holes at the 45 degree corners of the backstop that seems to be a ball magnet and by the time the C turns around, flips his mask, and looks for the ball it is below the grade of the dirt in one of those holes. We positioned a Dad at the backstop to let the C know if balls fell into the holes. You might consider doing the same if they have not filled those holes by now. Lastly, and hopefully this will not be a concern this weekend, if it rains the fields do not drain very well. Field 6 especially.

Please share with us your experiences.

Great Post Coach.. We have never played at South Walton and it seems most of the 11aaa games will be played there.
Can anyone provide insight on infield (grass or dirt) and length of fences ? I agree with you about hidden valley.. the number 9 field is more like 185 tops. BTW_ what is the forecast for this weekend?

From Google maps the two fields that are the same size at the park look like dirt infields.......

Sometimes the images are old but I like to use Google Satellite images to see the park. For example, if you click this link http://tinyurl.com/4r854tv then you will see the South Walton Fields. Looks like some of them have dirt infields and some do not. Of course, you can't tell the field dimensions from this but it is a start ;)

As for the weather....SUNNY AND 80!!! WOO HOOO!!! ;)

RW Coley-- Field about 230 grass infields, down in a hole not a great field. Concession stand is awful.

Gearld Matthews all dirt infields.
Warren Holder --Grass infields- Traffic around Tanger Outlet Mall can be bad on Sat. and Sunday afternoon. Short fences maybe 200
