So , Homeplate Chili's brought home the hardware . .
How you think the rest of the teams did ?

I was really impressed with MGBA and Pride. Both really good teams, but HP's pitching was just too much this weekend.

I wouldn't say there is a single team in the entire tournament that has 3 easy pool games. Everyone here knows about the Astro's and RR's, but if Mac n Seitz are as good as advertised MGBA and the NC Diamond Cutters have their work cut out for them. Gamer's got a pretty tough draw too.

OK. So the Chilidogs won a tourny with a couple of AAA teams and a few majors. My question is was the pitching that good? Or was the hitting that bad? I don't know but this weekend should tell all.

I wouldn't think that a team would come all the way from Connecticut if they're not pretty good. So...there is another tough team...and they are in with 45's and Stixx.

The Gamer's I was refering to is the Elite Gamers out of McDonough. They have a very tough draw. Goose's Gamers are out of CT. They came all the way from CT last year and went 3 and out. Just because you travel a long way that doesn't guarantee success. We played on a pretty weak team last year and played on Sunday. Only 1 game, but that was better than a lot of teams.

The tournament link shows the Astro's lost to the Titans in the final. What am I missing?

The 12U results from last year show that the Goose's Gamers Navy beat the Astros and ended up tied for 9th. The Astros were tied for 17th. There is no guarantee that this Goose's Gamers is the same team or same caliber. And, it is early in the year for northern teams, but you still have to respect them. So...back to my original point. In that pool you have the Goose's Gamers, 45's and Stixx. Pretty good pool.

hey checkswing,
here's another pat on the back if you need one up there, until proven otherwise, astros are the best, 45's & roadrunners are not far behind, we know that down here, and hopefully you are with one of those three teams, ...but to answer your question, i guess you could say the hitting was bad.

Goose's gamers and Mac-N-Seitz have great programs. They will both have good teams here in ATL.

Tough pools for a few and Sunday will provide the answers on who is the best right now and probably be a good crystal ball for later in the summer.

Good luck to all. Keep playing!!!!

Cant wait to see how some of the teams discussed on this board do against some TOUGH competition. This tourney is loaded with it.

Two things are for sure about Homeplate. Number one, they're for real.....how real remains to be seen this weekend. Number two, their fans can can light up this board quicker than a two team Astros controversy. I like the spirit and remember HP the South is Gonna Rise Again.......

My mistake. I was looking at the 12U results in error.

smoke...you are correct.

The record shows that the Astros beat the Titans 15-0 in the semi-final, while the Stixx beat the ECB Braves in the other 6-5. The Astros then beat the Stixx 12-4 in the final. According to the records, only the Stixx scored on them all tournament. In fact, going farther back, the two closest games the Astros have had this spring were with the 45's and Stixx in the Spring Frost 10-6 and 9-5 (respectively).

Pretty good huh?

NO WAY CHECKSWING, ASTROS, 45'S, & RR'S ARE THE CLEAR FAVORITES, JUST TRYING TO WORK OUR WAY UP THE LADDER.

My man Smoke is being modest.....just good old classic sandbagging by a military man. He knows HP will be bringing it this weekend. The good news in all of this is, win, loose or draw, the young men actually competing on the field this weekend will be getting better irrespective of the score or outcome.....which in the end should be the driving force for all of us. Come on Georgia teams lets go get this thing done!!
