With the rainout last weekend all over the state, looks like a full house in Dalton. Alot of East Cobb teams have jumped in. Initial weather forecasts looks great. Who are the early favorites? I like the Braves and Stars in the finals.
1. EAST COBB SPARTANS ** 2. EAST COBB RAPTORS ** 3. EAST COBB NATIONALS ** 4. ACWORTH BLUE WARRIORS ** 5. PATRIOTS BASEBALL ** 6. GEORGIA FORCE ** 7. CHOO CHOO CITY MUSTANGS 8. PC BONES ** 9. SMASH BASEBALL ** 10.GEORGIA TITANS ** 11.HOBGOOD STORM ** 12.VIPER BASEBALL ACADEMY ** 13.SBA SCORPIONS 14.TENNESSEE OUTLAWS ** 15.SFCB BARRETT BASEBALL ** 16.6-4-3 DP COUGARS ** 17.EAST COBB STARS 18.EAST COBB BRAVES **

With gas being $3.50/gallon, better hope you don't get Friday pool games and have to travel back and forth for 3 days.
Braves are the obvious favorite but I think 643 makes it there in the ship. Their having 2 brackets aren't they?? |

I don't think they will split into 2 brackets.....but you never know. With so many teams, there will have to be games on Friday night. |

With most teams not playing USSSA this early in the season we have decided to go with ONE big division. Concerns were with most teams not having points due to not playing USSSA this year is that alot of good teams could end up in same pools and getting put in a silver bracket after pool and not play for it all....so hopefully not a mistake but all should work out. Should work out and be a good warm up for Super NIT and teams that can make a run will get plenty of games before next weekend. |

Wow, what a field of teams gathered in N Georgia. I understand the East Cobb Rays are playing in a 12u Major in Conyers this weekend, but where are the East Cobb Longhorns? They were signed up for this one but quickly got out, wonder why? |

Hi Gramps -
Maybe its just my humble opinion but no need for anyone to explain what tournaments their team is, or is not, playing.
All that fun stirred up by folks (some outside both of the teams) died down a few weeks ago - lets keep it that way and focus the thread on the Blue/Gray.
I have too many friends on many of the teams in this one to hazard a pick, but should be some good games up in Dalton! What y'all think about final four here? |

That is a decent list of teams, nothing else going on locally. Where is this 12U major tournament happening? I only see a 12U AA team and a 12U AAA team entered. |

Grampa,
We did reserve a spot for a few hours but decided to enter a 12U tournament up in Duluth, the main reason is it's 60 miles closer for half our team which live south of I-20. Dalton has a great group of teams but you really need to spend the night up there and we have 2 out of town trips on the calendar next month. Most teams have less then 5 games under their belts, I think we're all just trying to get some work in.

ATPP is looking for 11u & 12u teams to play this weekend. Anyone interested in playing at a nice park in Marietta, GA send us an email and we will see if we can get enough to make something happen.

Hey Grampa...haven't heard from you in awhile!! I think somebody needs to remind the 12U Major teams that they can sign up for the tournament in Conyers. So far I see only a AA team and a brand new AAA team. You guys should still be the favorites IMO......Good Luck this weekend
Preston, just like we talked about a couple weeks ago....The parents have more fun with the rivalry than the kids do....The boys are friends regardless of which team they play for....**** mine doesn't even know we have a rivalry!! He just wants to go to Disney and play!! |

Haven't seen much talk so far about Barrett Baseball. Anyone know what type of team they have? |

We played Barrett last Friday night. Very solid team. Can really hit the ball. Well coached. Now, about those uniforms.....

Mayhem Destruction....(wonder who picked that name?) and I think one of the AA/AAA Homeplate Teams. I just saw the Georgia Grays are in it to? They are always pretty tough |

Has anyone seen the Grays or know whats going on with them? They finished pretty strong last year. Maybe a good matchup with the Rays. |

S4 - Your right, I think Homeplate is in it too. Should be a fun weekend, atleast the weather looks good! Much MUCH better than last weekend!
Good luck to you guys in Duluth, & hope all the teams in Dalton enjoy Heritage Point.
BTW: I think the flare pants look pretty good Andy. Gotta luv it when some coaches wear the same attire - Kenny can still wear a uniform (but he is a bit younger than most of us) |

Haven't seen a 4 team tournament in a while, guess we'll see the Grays vs. Rays matchup in pool. There is a 50% chance that they will see each other in bracket play too, I'm a match major btw.

"DUE TO HEAVY RAINS IN THE DALTON AREA WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO MOVE ALL FRIDAY GAMES TO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN ANOTHER COMPLEX FOR OUR 8 & 9u TEAMS (AL ROLLINS PARK). 11 AND 14U WILL PLAY AT HERITAGE POINT WEST(BOTTOM) AND 10 AND 12u WILL PLAY AT HERITAGE POINT EAST(TOP). SORRY FOR ANY INCONVIENCE" - This is the listing on the website......it should also say "We could not simply move the Friday games to Saturday, but we were also forced to change pool team makeups and change game matchups, the heavy rain made the game matchups change...." |

All in all, this looks like a good thing. The tough part with such big brackets is some teams will have to play 4 games back to back and that is so tough on the little guys. |

The main problem is all of the shuffling around that is occurring....there are still issues with the schedule that is out there and more modifications will most likely occur. They could have simply moved the Friday games to Saturday and changed fields. Instead, the whole tournament got reslotted. |

Updates on today's games? Is there a link with updated brackets? |
