Well, it sounds like the Tigers were able to score some runs on the Astros while at the same time holding them to only a few runs. Can someone who was at the game please post some details of what happened? Thanks in advance!

Wasn't there but spoke to someone who was. Decent pitching beat un-disciplined hitting. Mediocore pitching beat by a good team. Can't expect to win many games if you can't throw strikes. But I also heard the losers are missing some key players due to High School ball and they will be short until end of April/May. Congrats to the Tigers for a well played tournament.

I was there. The Tigers played well. Art has always done a good job. They executed the small game, played good defense, threw strikes, and got big hits when they needed them. The Astros are thin right now due to a couple of factors, but they are still the Astros. I'm quite certain they aren't ready to press the panic button.

Hats off to the Tigers. They played very well.

Papa watched many of the 14U games and the Astros are still the Astros. I understand that they were missing some key players but I could see through the rust and saw some real talent on their team. The catcher is as good as they come and several of them can hit it a ton. What I saw more than the players was the field. The field is huge and I saw some kids make plays. I watched a couple of 350 foot bombs get caught on the warning track and I watched what I thought was deer but was really outfielders running and making plays. If what we got was a sample of things to come then I think this is going to be a great year for these teams. When some of them get the bigger field figured out it will be fun to watch. I saw some real athletes this weekend on the top fields and it was a thrill to see them playing again.
