Have been apart of coaching travel ball for last 5 years and its not a easy job.Have made mistakes on the field but always tried to make sure that i never intentionally hurt a kid. This year myself and one of the other coaches decided to place our boys in a position of playing for someone else in professional organization and take a back seat to coaching. Some of our other great ball players joined us. This program was SOLD to us by having 2 COOPERSTOWN letters(because of two teams),playing in all the major tournaments(triplecrown, supernit, etc.),with the sincere possibly of getting 2-3 good ECB players to make our major team stronger.Went from august to feb hearing this from the "group" PRESIDENT and staff. Found out that there is no ECB possibilities its Feb and NO COOPERSTOWN DATES, and have been told that we would not began Tournament PLAY til April. This drew concerns from some of the families involved wondering what was real and what was make beleive. But, decided to stay just because of the paid trainer and the training that our boys was getting from him. Wednesday night four of us concerned parents(believe me they are more) approached the "group" PRESIDENT in regards to these issues. One day later one of the parents is being questioned why WE QUIT! Our boys had worked their butts off since august with the anticipation they were going to COOPERSTOWN. FUNNY THING IS WE DID NOT QUIT.We received a email that stated our boys was released for lack of commitment, and practice participation. The fact of the matter was the President felt underminded because we ask him why I was getting emails from tournament directors because they were sending them to him and getting "no response". This was not a cut due to lack of talent this was a ego punishment directed and taken out on our boys. All emails and phone calls to the "President" have not been returned to any of the families involved. Tring to set a example of how a PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION should be I will not disclose what "GROUP" this is I will just say that I hope "PRESIDENTS" AND COACHES will lay egos aside before making hasty decisions with out thinking about the repercussions on others. |

Stingfree I think your right and you may have been onto something by one of your other posts from 2/22. The wonderful families of the "group" will be missed. Its really sad because the program exterior appears to have all the "BELLS AND WHISTLES" but a car salesman once told me its whats under the hood that counts. |

Billy, This is a real shame. I know 3 of the kids you're talking about and they have as much talent and commentment and heart for the game as any kids I know. You all took a chance to go to a new team with promises of greatness and now you have no team. The "professionals" that run that organization should really think about what this action says to the kids. The boys are good players. They will find a team but I know what a dissapointment this is to them and their parents. Good luck and to the team leaders of "that team" shame on you! |

Spartan4 -YES. You are correct. We were told for 8 months we were going to C-Town but now its a wait and see if any spots come open. The final pay day is March 1st. This is the day all monies are due. So, if your team does not have a letter or proof they paid, then you go on a waiting list. Make sure you get proof from your Head Coach before you drink the kool aide. |
