Checkswing-I was talking about ECB and you are right the Astros are the best team at ECB. They better be with getting first dibs! I still stand by my statement too! ;) |

Well It sounds like everybody is on the same brain wave. That's why I included hard work and practice along with recruiting. I just think a team should give credit where credit is due. If you lose don't tell me every reason why you were almost, just about, should have won, tell me "man that's a good team, I'm glad we competed with one of the best." |

Great teams win close games, good teams play great teams close. The AStros are the Dragon. Dont tell me about blown leads, extra innings, or hurt pitcher arms. If u cant slay the Dragon then go work harder, recruit better, coach better, or admit that the other team is better. And trust me its fine to not be on top, being close to the top makes u work cause u can see the prize. Good Luck to all this weekend, and you will need it if u want to SLAY THE DRAGON!
What say you now Dragon Breath? |

Agreed, Funnyhop. The two teams that everyone touted as the best around finished a combined 4-5 on the weekend. Based on what I saw this weekend, there better be some expectation adjustments occurring (or some serious mid-season recruiting). Can't play on a national stage unless you are tops in your state. And before you are tops in your state you at least should be tops in your own park. |

Those kinds of statements, "SLAY THE DRAGON" ,always come back to bite you!! I still think the Astros are one of the best in Georgia, but now they know there are others that are just as good as them. |

They didn't bite me and I'm not associated with the Astros. I simply think they are the Dragon. With all the recruited talent. Oh and funnyhop I assume your a 45 guy, good job beating them this weekend. It would have been sweeter if you could have beat them in a championship game like they did you on two different occasions. But great job nonetheless. |

Wow! Such bold statements from a person not associated with the team.? I hope this is true and if it is I am sure the Astros coaches, parents and kids don't appreciate you making statements like this. I have watched the Astros play several times this season and they don't seem arrogant. I have also watched Homeplate play this past weekend and they all seem like class acts too. Seems both teams have an arrogant fan posting on NWBA. If this is true, it is really not a good idea. Why would you want to make a team look so arrogant? I sure wouldn't appreciate it if this was done to my team. We are all just out here for our boys to compete and have fun. I know you can post whatever you want to a point on this website, but just do it in good taste, especially if you are not associated with the team.... |

Thanks Knucklecurve you are dead on!!! The Astro are a class group, Homeplate is a class group!!! Roadrunners are a class group. I know for a fact there are posters on here using different names stirring the pot each week. I hope everyone her knows that and realizes the ones who talk about other teams and their kids are the ones that usually cant win the Big One! Lets keep playing ball and leave the jealous trash talking off this site...Agree?quote: Originally posted by knucklecurve

I guess i'm kettle and your pot. Sounds like both of us have a lot of respect for this team. We have not seen the last of this team. I have seen them play and I know some of their players, very strong team, and well coached. |

I don't think so. If you go to the SUPER NIT thread you will see where I wrote, "I stand corrected", when the 45's beat the Astros. I still think the Astros have some of the best 13U pitching out there, but now see others do too. There are no Dragons, just some very good teams with a lot of talent on them. I respect ALL of these teams! |
