Welcome to the 8th annual Buckeye Elite Showcase Tournament. This year's event will be held in Columbus, Ohio; the dates are July 6-10, 2011. This year's field will be limited to the first (96) - U18 teams, (64) - U16 teams, (56) - U15 teams, and (32) - U-14 teams. This tournament has sold out early every year, so we strongly advise applying as soon as possible. The tournament field will be one of the most competitive fields in the Midwest. We have teams attend from 15 different states, as well as many teams from Canada. This has become one of the most prestigious events in the Midwest. The games will be held on 47 of central Ohio's premier high school and college fields.
We strive to improve our tournament and your tournament experience each year. This year we have added 2 new events. This year we have added a 2nd divisional championship. The top 2 teams from a 4 team pool will advance to the championship round in each age group. The 1st place pool winners will advance to the Gold Championship round. The Gold Championship games will be played at either Huntington Park, Home of the AAA Indians farm team, or Bill Davis Stadium, home of the Ohio State Buckeyes .The 2nd place team in each pool will advance to the Silver Championship round. The Silver Championship games will be played at Otterbein College. All other teams will play 1 consolation game on Saturday.
The second event will be a Buckeye Elite night at Huntington Park. The Columbus Clippers will being playing a home game the night of July 8.. We will have all teams’ parade onto the field. There will be many chances for players to participate in on field contest. We will have honorary bat boys. Players will be chosen to throw out the first pitch. The Columbus Clippers and Buckeye Elite have teamed up to make this a very memorable event. Please look for more information to follow on this event.
*Event Format: This year’s tournament will be a 4 team pool play. Each team will play all teams in their pool. The top 2 teams will advance to Championship play, with the other teams playing 1 consolation game. The Gold Championship games will be played either at Huntington Park, home of the AAA Indians or Bill Davis Stadium, home of the Ohio State Buckeye. The Silver Championship game at Otterbein College.
*Event Awards: The Gold Champions and runner-ups in each age group will receive a team trophy and individual awards. The Silver Champions and runner-ups will receive team trophies only. All Champions and Runner-ups will have their picture taken and put on the tournament website with past Champions.
We have worked closely for the past 8 years with college coaches and pro scouts to make this a top collegiate exposure event. This event will be highly attended by both college coaches and pro scouts. This is an event you do not want to miss!
Big League Baseball School will be conducting an Invitation Only showcase prior to the Buckeye Elite Showcase Tournament on Wednesday July, 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Dublin Coffman High School .U-18,U-16 Coaches only will be sent a nomination form, to nominate their players. Participants in the Showcase will be limited to only 80 players. The directors have designed this event as an Invitation Only event, limiting participants to those who have the athletic ability and academic requirements to play at the next level. Directors for this event will be former Major League players Dan Briggs and John Pacella. This Pro-Style skills combine will attract college coaches and pro scouts throughout the Midwest. Last year’s Showcase event attracted over 60 college coaches and pro scouts. Big League Baseball will personally contact over 300 schools and invite them to attend this event. This is a premier Showcase and Tournament you don't want to miss.
