I am not trying to "stir the pot", however, I want to make sure the truth is out there where it relates to PC Beach events, especially when MY GRAND SLAM ORGANIZATION NAME is brought into the discussion. I was floored when someone asked me how another organization was hosting a WS event the same time the GRAND SLAM WORLD SERIES EVENT was being held in Panama City Beach, Florida. After some digging, I found that some folks from the other organization were spreading the word that they were hosting numerous events including WS in Panama City. On the surface, it is true, however, the events are being held 30-45 minutes AWAY FROM PANAMA CITY BEACH on the outer edges of Bay County and NOT ONE GAME will be played at Frank Brown Park. Again, I am not one to "start crap" but I do feel it important when my organization's name is brought into the discussion to give full disclouser.

Grand Slam Tournaments has tremendously enjoyed our 6-year relationship with FRANK BROWN PARK in Panama City Beach, Florida! ALL of our BEACH events are HELD AT THE BEACH and FRANK BROWN PARK. We don't advertise an event in Panama City and then make you drive 30-minutes from the beach to play! We feel it is IMPORTANT to play our games AT THE BEACH when you come to a Grand Slam event in Panama City Beach, Florida. The ONLY times we don't play at Frank Brown is when we play our older age divisions at either ARNOLD HS (Also on the Beach) or the beautiful facility at GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE which is just over the bridge and only a 10-minute drive from our host headquarters on the Beach! Rest assured when you sign up to play in a GRAND SLAM EVENT in Panama City Beach, Florida that you are ACTUALLY PLAYING ON THE BEACH and not 30-45-minutes away. We are the ONLY TRAVEL BASEBALL ORGANIZATION that can make this claim so be careful when planning your BEACH TRIP in 2011 or you could find yourself making an hour and half round trip every day to the ball park!

We have been in Panama City for Session II for two consecutive years, fortunate enough to win the tournament both times we have been down there. This is a great event, it is not the Elite 32 as far as major teams from far away but it allows the teams to have beach time, which is what 90% of the parents care about anyway!!
