Looked at USSSA 13U reclassification. Anyone have questions, thoughts or input on it good or bad? I noticed Home Plate Pippin is AAA. That seems way off, but maybe I'm missing something. They are definitely a Major team as far as I know.
Any other thoughts? |

Only 3-11 in class record, that's gonna get you reclassed. Beat some good teams but not consistent. The team doesn't exist anymore so it doesn't really matter. |

This year's 13U Major team at Home Plate is not the same team as last years 12U Major team.

This will look so different come mid March. Some of those teams don't even exist anymore! |

It is interesting, but really irrelevant except if you are classed up and lost good players. If you were classed down and picked up some pieces then you can play up. |

Some of the reasoning behind the reclassification of teams "up" is questionable. For example, when a team only plays 6 USSSA games in a season and is moved up based on one good win in the six games, I don't get it. The solution may be to avoid USSSA events but the classification can be used to keep a team out of non-sanctioned events as well (e.g., non-sanctioned events advertised as AA/AAA only). Perhaps a survey of other in-class coaches would be helpful in some of these appeal cases...... |
