Come tryout for the 12U Oregon Park Mavericks Travel Team in the 2020-2021 Season. The 12U Mavericks are looking to add 3-4 players with specific opportunities for pitchers and catchers!
The basic teaching goals that we have used in the past that include sportsmanship, leadership, and fundamentals will still be part of the 12U Program. The team will be “ranked” accordingly to the talent level and work our way up through the ranks over time. As with all our past teams, teaching the “Will to Win” is more (JUST AS) important than the actual “Win” itself. If the kids practice hard, hustle, and give their best effort each play, then positive things will happen in their lives which in many cases includes winning games more times than not. We are coaches, not managers. We like to practice and get better by doing the right reps, the right way.
The Families of our 12U Travel Team will get timely communication, a visible team budget, and strategic plan for each kid to improve throughout the season.
We also plan to add additional activities outside of baseball for the kids to have some fun.
If you are currently on a Travel Team, not a problem. If you are happy, then I am happy that your child is having fun. This is just an invitation for you to consider. Come tryout, you might like what you see!
What Oregon Park Offers:
• 2-3 Practice Opportunities each week at OP. Not scrambling to find a place to practice.
• Umpire Credits to Schedule Home Games at OP. This is up to us to schedule, not OP!
• Our team will travel to Cooperstown, NY next summer! This is an amazing trip for a young baseball player.
• OP has a “Brand Name” that is recognized throughout Metro Atlanta and the Southeast.
Our team will play 3-4 tournaments in the Fall and play 8-10 Tournaments in the Spring / Summer of 2021.
The Tryouts for the 12U OP Mavericks will be on this Saturday, 8/1 at Oregon Park, Field 1 from 10-1.
