The 12u Georgia World Series Invitational is an idea to bring a fun, statewide, tournament with the best teams from across the state to a College World Series style event.
32 teams will compete at 8 regional sites with the regional winners advancing to the Georgia World Series in Milton, GA in April. This will be a double-elimination event so every game counts from the first pitch. To advance, you'll have to bring your best for every inning of every game.
Announced on Dec. 19, 2010, the following teams have already tentatively accepted an invitation to play in the 12u Georgia World Series event:
* Cartersville Rookies - Cartersville
* East Cobb Stars - Marietta
* East Cobb Titans - Marietta
* GA Academy Red - Peachtree City
* Georgia Jackets Gold - Milton
* Gwinnett Wildcats - Duluth
* Home Plate - Black - Peachtree City
* Midway Dirty Dawgs - Cumming
* Mill Creek Red - Hoschton
* Sandtown Red Sox - Atlanta
* Sandy Plains Wildcats - Marietta
* Stixx Baseball - Albany
Four other teams have indicated strong interest and are checking their schedules:
