Man, looks like the 11u crowd is hibernating already!
I would like to take the Nats to a tournament south of Atlanta some time this spring, so we can play some teams we won't typically see. Are there any really well run tournaments that would be worth going to and spending a few nights over a long weekend? Last year we did not have to spend a single night away from home (until PCB), which was cool and convenient, but there are so many teams out there that we never see that I'd like to do this one weekend this spring. Looking for suggestions.
Thanks! |

Buck,
I think everyone is out shopping with the wives, been almost a week since anyone has posted anything. If your interested in an overnight stay, perhaps Augusta, Nashville or even Chattanooga should be in your mind as well. We went to that new park in Chattanooga last season and that place is really nice plus you get to play different teams up there. Plenty to do in Nashville and it's only what 3-4 hours away for most. Augusta, good cluster of teams there and from SC to play.
As far as down south, you can go to Columbus, Savannah or even Macon if that's considered south. Savannah's a neat little town plus you get some of the teams from northern Florida and they can be very good. There are a few spots in Alabama that might be worth a look too, best part is all these spots are just a few hours away. |

I would think Savannah might be good. Looking at Triple Crown they have one scheduled late April, not sure if that corresponds to any off school days. Looks like Triple Crown has a new one at Brunswick which is right near Savannah in early march. Looking at the Fulton school calendar march 11 is off which would make a long weekend for that tourney, not sure what county your in. USSSA doesn't seem to have posted anything yet. I would lean towards south so the kids can enjoy pool time, especially if it's march time frame. I'm sure once USSSA post there will be more options. |

Take a look at www.csitournamentstallahassee.com They are part of Florida Usssa. Also another site would be Ultimate sports promotions out of Dothan Alabama. Peach state Diamond Sports is also doing Usssa this year. They have alot of there spring tourneys already listed. We are from Bainbridge (just completed new 8 field park--Gives us 16 fields in one park.)an between those orgs the are at least 10 tournaments here this year. Come play... |

Wow!!! Thanks to everyone for the ideas! I am taking some time off around the upcoming holiday and plan to map out my spring schedule, so this will help me check out all our non-local options. Thanks again. |
