Tall lefty in Alpharetta looking for a chance to show what he can do.

5' 9" - just turned 13 last month - should be 5'10"+ by Spring (if he keeps up this growth spurt).

  • Great glove and strong throw

  • Excellent 1st Baseman

  • Good OF

  • Developing LH pitcher - working with Brian Edmondson - throws upper 50's, can make it into the 60's - just needs a little more experience and confidence to be your go-to lefty fireballer on the mound - FB, Change, Spike, and working on a true CB

  • Also catches - I realize most teams may not want a lefty catcher as their primary, but he will make a good back-up when you need him, with very quick reflexes, strong arm, and an outside reach on RH hitters that saves the wild stuff from getting by

  • Smart baserunner - Faster than most, but not as speedy as some

  • Excellent hitting mechanics and good power (hits righty now - potentially a switch-hitter). Worked with Hard Knocks for 4 years, now with Auterson for batting.

Select and Allstar experience. Has not played travel, but matches up well with most travel players we've encountered - eclipses many. Has played 13 straight seasons, including 3 per year for the last two years (Spring, Summer, Fall).

If you take a chance on this seasoned rec player and give him an opportunity to step up to travel, you won't be disappointed. Hard worker. Dedicated team player. Loves the game and takes it seriously.

Bonus - Mom & Dad both love to keep the scorebook and team stats :)

Thanks for all the kind emails and posted responses... and all the try-out offers.

We had 9 try-out offers within just a couple of weeks of posting the OP. What a great response! Sorry we couldn't manage to arrange to see each and every coach individually in the short time the good weather still held out! Nevertheless, it speaks very highly of NWGA and all the fine people here that we were so generously welcomed.

We've found a team we're very happy with and have signed-on for the coming 2011 season. My son and I both look forward to seeing you out on the diamond in the Spring!

Best regards to all,
Jack
